So, dropping Torres isn't tinkering?
Of course it fucking is!

Listen, I'm not saying we would have won if he played.
There's one thing worse than drawing at home to Birmingham; and thats drawing when you know the best 11 didn't even start. And that's Rafa's fault.

There is no excuse to why we didn't win the game. 10 out of the 11 players were the strongest we could put on the pitch at this present time.

We were predictable,static,unimaginative and uninspiring.

Whether or not we would have won with Torres is anyone's guess, but the lack of criticism that our players are receiving is baffling.

The game against Porto, we fielded our strongest side and played the worst game I've seen in the last 2 years in Europe.

If we can't win games without Torres, then we have no rights to win the league.

The Gerrard-Mascherano partnership that everyone was raving about is not better than the Gerrard-Alonso partnership.

no I am not blind...

maybe you are too narrow minded and too intent on blaming rafa...

the fact is these kind of single changes is done by every manager... ferguson, mourinho, wenger... and the fact is rafa played the BEST 11 that HE thinks is suitable for this game...

like sabre mentioned maybe for us torres seems to be worlds apart from the other three strikers... it is a fan's opinion... I can safely say rafa knows more than us which striker is good at what aspect of the game and he probably knows the weaknesses of torres which we might not have seen yet... so he made an educated decision... this is not tinkering... (the definition of tinkering is making unskilled and experimental decisions)

and btw (this may or may not apply to you Effes) but the reactions like "our season is over" "this team is at best 4th" are absolutely pathetic at this point in season. We have 1 pt more than united and chelsea having played the same game. Are you gonna write us off without writing them off? Have some faith FFS.

already posted in thge match thread, but i wil, just reiterate in here what i said, rafa stop being stubborn, it isnt working, and why, when you are a supposed genius did you leave our main goal threat on the bench for one hour while it was obvious even to my girlfriend what was happening, they packed the defence and we couldnt unlock it, why do you think we will suddenly get the key when after half an hour we didnt look like finding it.

the fans will turn agaisnt you rafa if you keep making this mistake of being stubborn. i dont xare what worked in spain, we aint in spain sunshine, we are in the premier league where 3 years of the same mistake should tell you it isnt going to work

So applying that thesis...

Rafa looked at Birmingham at home and thought
"Hmm, this is not a game for Torres here. Birmingham will expose his weaknesses"
WTF!

So, Torres shouldn't play at home to all the other the "lesser" teams?
Rafa is not infallible you know.
N.B. You might want to look up "tinkering" in the dictionary.

Yes he is. I mean when Pako was here, beating teams with ten men behind the ball was easy. Remember the time we beat them two seasons ago at Anfield and at St Andrews......... oh wait.

In terms of footballing ability yes. However Bellamy's return last season was woeful, seven goals was it?
