I think what we seen this weekend was a bias that most referee's have for the teams at the top of the table. I don't have a complex about it, thats just the fact of the matter. If you are on top more refereeing decisions go your way. I agree that the penalty would probably have been given if we had been 1-0 down, but Riley was loath to give it to us when we were all level. I'm not saying this is a conscious decision by the referees its just the way it happens

First...greece2004, your avatar is unacceptable. Read the forum rule. Please have it changed before you turned this into a porn forum! :D

As far as gamesmanship is concerned, I think we are too "gentleman" at time, in that we didn't put pressure on the ref. when it is obvious he made a fcuked-up decision. FFS, THIS IS ANFIELD, our homeground where we would expect any 50-50 decisions to go our way, especially when we were pilling pressure on the opposition defence. While I won't advocate winning at all cost but if we were to put pressure on the ref, letting him know in no uncertain terms that he has made a mistake, that Rafa were to be a bit more "agreesive" in his after match comments on the referee's decisions, you can be sure that the next time something like this happens, the whisle will be blown. At the end of the season, those decisions could mean holding the aloft the EPL trophy or finishing short yet again! Within our right...you betcha otherwise why bother to pour our anger at the injustice of the screwed up decisions here??
