rather you lambasting others, you need to really post your own thoughts first, and maybe use others quotes to either justify or strengthen your view, or the opposite.

that would be more constructive lfc2007, dont you think ?

I've posted my own thoughts on the subject, and I am now questioning Mick's thoughts on the subject - which I am in the process of doing.

I'm not 'lambasting' anybody, just posing questions and trying to get straight answers to those questions.

Question: Does anybody sincerely think that in the fourth game that key players will be at their best?

If you have answered negatively, then you have to "rest" a player in a traditional way. And in the fifth game you'll have a game in which that rested player is not playing (or injured if unlucky).

CL games can only be every OTHER week, and we normally don't play our topside in the domestic cup games.

I think the question he is asking is for those that wish Rafa plays the same side for all games unless injury or very poor form rules them out. So they would also advocate the same team for the Cups.

Actually you're right, but my question was independently of the competition we play. I want to know how would people would address the amount of games you have within the week, no matter if it's CL, cups, or international games of players.

If we played a game per week I WOULDN'T ROTATE. Since we have a lot of games, then that's where I believe in rotation. Probably if I was a Sunderland manager that is out of cups and focusing in the league, I wouldn't rotate whatsoever. I just want to know what policy would antirotationalist do to deal with so many games. Or rather they'd play the same best eleven and change players only when rest is needed, that is, with no planification, taking it as it comes.

No mate, I don't revert to insults of the most horrid nature via PM - I respond accordingly, and I certainly have nothing against women.

You saw the need to poke your nose into a debate that me and Mick were having, and only me and him.

I ask why the need?

Is this really necessary?

Getting tiresome fella.

No, probably not mate, but look back and see who arrived in this thread with no reason and made unnecessary comments towards me, whilst I was in the process of debating footballing issues with BM.

Well LFC anmd myself have had a chat via PM so hopefully that one is cleared up. Back onto the subject of rotation...

I was thinking while I was talking about Arsenal in another thread and how they've fully utilised their relatively easy start ot the season, how would they have gone if they had picked their team in the same manner we picked ours? If they had made the same number of changes that we had, flipped over the fullbacks and the wide-men regularly, benched their top players (probably Fabregas would be a comparison) and rotated the strikers, would they be in the position they are now?

The short answer of course is that nobody knows. At the start of the season though, if say Reading were playing Arsenal would they have fancied their chances? Would they have gone for it, got in the faces of the Londeners and gone for the win? Definately, but now when they play against Wengers men, even at Home they get ten behind the ball and try and hang on. At the start of the season would we have expected Arsenal to go to Anfield and dominate the game for long periods like they did, to miss two open goals rebounding from two solid hits of the goal frame in a 1-1 draw? And would they have doninated their group in the Champions League, qualifying in a canter with precision football had they have changed the team as often and to the extent that we have?

Like I said, nobody knows for sure and nobody will ever know. We can guess though, and I know what my guess is.
