Liverpool snubbed in Raynes offer

Turner has already rejected a bid from WBA for Raynes
Stockport boss Chris Turner has turned down a request from Liverpool to take defender Michael Raynes on trial.
The European champions wanted a closer look at the 17-year-old, with a view to signing him on a permanent deal.

"Although he is still only young, Michael played 20 senior games for us last season," Turner told Stockport's official website.

"He is very much part of our first-team squad. I don't think it's right to let first-team players go on trial."

Turner said he wanted to protect his young player, who has already attracted attention from West Bromwich Albion.

"I've seen instances in the past when young players have returned from trials at big clubs with a big dent in confidence because a dream move didn't materialise," he said.

he left the Raptors because he didnt want to me a duo with his cousin, the guy is a ball hog. He is just as bad as Iverson and Labron James. U need a real player up there like Wade, or Duncan.

Since when this has become an NBA forum??? But I hear you CRA because I'm also a Raptors fans (How unfortunate). LFC and Toronto Maple Leafs are my favourite teams. As for T-Mac, the way he spinned the Raptors was simply not what a man would do and we shall never forget it but the way his cousin Vince had acted was even worse. Anyway, glad their whole family is gone.

Going back to rumours, in one of the interview from Hyypia, he said Rafa told him a new CB will be joining LFC and the next signing is probably going to be a CB I think. I think it might be Upson as Rafa would want some EPL experienced players for sure. As for Milito, never seen him play but I got a feeling that he plays like Colocini. Pleaes correct me if I'm wrong.

Duncan is a different player to McGrady, yeah ok he keeps the ball but thats because he's great at driving the lane or taking a shot.

Do you think the same of Vince Carter?

It looks like it could be a battle between us and Real to get Albert Luque. Rafa wanted him before and Real have always been interested but he could set us back £10m, because they won't take £9m and Josemi. Although, I've heard else where that Depor would much rather see him leave the country.

If this is true, it hammers in the last nail on Baros' coffin, but it makes you wonder if we have the money for both him and Milito.

Wigan boss Paul Jewell is considering bringing Stephane Henchoz to the club on a free transfer.

Henchoz, the 30-year-old Switzerland defender, is available as a free agent after spending most of last season at Celtic.

The former Liverpool player has flown to Denmark to join up with the Latics and will stay with the squad for the rest of the week.

Jewell told the club's official club website: "Stephane brings a wealth of Premiership and international experience and would be a great signing for us.

"He's training with us for the rest of this week and then hopefully something will happen when we get back home to England.

"He doesn't have to prove anything in terms of quality; all he has to prove is his fitness. He's been training on his own all summer, but from what I've seen so far he's kept himself in pretty good shape."
