I must confess I'd never heard of him till a couple of days ago. Probably one of the Scottish lads on the forum could provide some insight into whether or not he's any good. In truth though he doesn't need to be a World beater as he's probably only going to play if there's a crisis/moment oif selectorial madness from Rafa. In the normal swing of things I suppose each of those scenarios should occur at least once during the course of the season, and as long as he doesn't make a nonsense of it we should be fine with him.

Emergency cover, thankfully we've a few games where we should be ok and scoring will be our worry ie if we lose, it won't likely be for shipping too many goals.

Still never that keen on signing players nearing or past 30. I did wonder yesterday if we mightn't as well sell Agger given he's not been fully fit for ages.

AGGER

05/06 4 apps, 0 goals
06/07 43 apps, 4 goals
07/08 6 apps, 0 goals
08/09 18 apps, 2 goals
09/10 0 apps, 0 goals

71 apps, 6 goals in 3.5 seasons (about 20 apps a season) Good defenders are no good if they're always injured, maybe we could sell him to Citeh for £15m

Mick they will tell you he had a few stikers with them and then in a few games he was their best player..........but that was years ago.

the problem we will have with him is that he will not have time to get to know the english game before the big games start.

Used more for cover i think , especially toward the end of last season played well as a left winger , useful to have him as he can play left back and left mid .
