lets be honest rafa is only loved by some fans due to that one game in instanbul. But the thing is it was stevie that won us that final. Rafas tactics were that bad he obviously didnt do his homework. Stevie got him out of jail that night. If we would of lost that night. Theres no way he would of lasted as long.

Stevie got him out of jail?  You're delusional.   :D

Stevie is the one that got dominated by AC Milan in the first half.  It was Hamman who changed the game and guess who brought him on in the second half?

absolute rubbish so whose tactics got us 3-0 down in the first half. stevie was the one who came out second half pumped up like a wounded  tiger and got everyone else going. what has rafa done apart from that. feck all just wasted 200 million quid.

F*ck up and stop gurning. Unreal how you're crying about how we were 3-0 down at half time. Who f*cking won in the end? End of the day, Rafa is in the history books for winning us our 5th European championship and beating the grass and rumbling the snakes. For that, the man will always be a legend in my eyes. If you can't have respect for that, well you can f*ck off and support someone else. We've just rid the club of the scum and you're still crying about inane sh*t. Sort it out!

Thats sh!te that. If you ever go to liverpool ask supporters why they have so much respect for rafa and they would tell you to a man its because he understood the club and the fans and what made them tick.
Had we lost both CL finals im sure he would still be looked on fondly.

Although I`m not sold on Hodgson and his relegation football I am of the opinion that rafas rein had run its course, the investment was missing when we really needed it to push on (IMO) and the team went stale, his relationship with certain players seemed to have gone that way too, promises of funds were broke again and that was the final staw.

As someone has already said we needed someone to come in to steady the ship, keep things ticking over untill hopefully we find wealthy new owners.........

Whats your point rushie?     Well surely its time to bring rafa back  :D

We finished 7th in the league six years into a five year plan, and he walked away with 6 million quid in his back pocket. He's a football manager who's been moved on, it's not like losing a family member in a sudden accident or anything.

It's not closure we need, it's perspective.

this should be the last post in this thread, nothing else is needed

Talk about losing perspective... :no

First of all how easy is it to win trophies nowadays?

Surely the trophies where plentiful each season before Rafa came and we were on top of the world...
Chelski didn't just spend some hundreds of millions when Rafa arrived... Then City...

Who was called the invincibles the season before Rafa arrived...?
What was the team that had won something like 20 titles in the last 15 years before Rafa arrived?

No trophies in the last 4 seasons huh?

:censored: European cup final, :censored: 2nd place in the league, those are nothing achievements...especially in the climate where Rafa got a sell to buy policy  :no

He had perfect working conditions with the nice wonderful owners who backed him and never tried to replace him.

Perspective my :censored:!

We'll see how many trophies Roy and any other manager coming in the next 5 years....

3 CL semifinals in 6 years. Before that we hadn't reached the semis in that tournament since 85.

Maybe then some with their heads into the sand will see what a fantastic achievment Rafa made.

You know it was Houllier who came off with the infamous "5 year plan" not Rafa. As for Rocky29 up there well after over 700 posts you had to know what kind of response that little pearl of wisdom about Istanbul would get on this forum so that tells me you'r a little bit of WUM.

Anyway today is the start of a new chapter, Im banking on Roy to turn things around over the next 10 games and get us right back in contention, a win today and we're only 5 points off 4th place but we really need to see a drastic change in the performance levels quick sharpish because what has come before has been nowhere near good enough. To an extent form goes out the window in the derby games so Im not expecting anything out of the top drawer today but we really need to start seeing a little bit of cohesion and style in the next few games becasue as has been mentioned there is no ownership issue to hide behind now - its the coach and the players the buck will stop with from now on. Go get em lads!

im not a wum. Am just sick to death of people defending rafa when he nearly ruined this club financially. Over 200 million of our money wasted and then he has the cheek to take another 6 million of our money to feck off and leave us with a squad not fit for the championship. Your all dellusional rafa fans.
