Looks decent I think, but can't claim to have watched a lot of him either.

The fee seems a lot to me for someone who's had one good season.

LFC will be a big step up but perhaps he has the character to handle it - have read O'Neil and DiCanio both praise his attitude.

Seems to back his own ability too from the quotes about the challenge he faces to be number one here. All good signs I think, but like you I wish I'd watched more of him do I'd have a better idea what we're getting!

In fairness he is a good keeper - very smart shot stopper , great reflexes. Not sure how much of a commanding presence he is and isn't the greatest at set pieces and crosses ( that's where I think Begovic has the edge ) .

Probably agree from what I've seen Benny.

Mignolet seems to the edge in shot stopping but Begovic has the edge on crosses.

The clincher for Rodgers was probably that Mignolet is more comfortable with the ball at his feet I think.

My interest is how good he is with the ball at his feet. Rodgers likes keeper who can play sweeper, Pepe has brilliant touch, control and distribution for a keeper - what is Mignolet like in this respect?

Haven't really seen that part of his game - I think we Sunderland being so deep it would be hard to judge as he won't have been a "sweeper" regularly

He seems to rate himself in this part of his game

This save against Bale was phenomenal .....The reds have tagged a very good keeper with the potential to be one of the best.

Having seen what's in his kitbag I'm sure he'll have no problem playing "sweeper"

he`s the lucky one! the keeper`s shirts not bad, that would have made a decent away kit.

From what I've seen (RBG's youtube clips) he looks very suspect on crosses.

I think keepers that are good on crosses are far and few between these days at the highest level as most teams
play 5 a side football so you get 5 a side goalies.

If you look at De Gea at United, a keeper worth 20m and in the Prem League team of the year, hes not that hot
on crosses, but he has fast reactions, quick off the line, and is good with the ball at his feet.

We have bought a modern goalie, but if we play a Carling or FA Cup game away against a team from League 2
he will ***** himself when the ball is lumped in.

You've got to be from a certain era to get that one!!

It was also sung at an incredibly high pitch as well which the Kop might struggle with.
