Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

So Stevie is staying great.

What do you think are the areas on the pitch that Benitez needs to strengthen and who would you like to see come in to the club before the start of the season.

Tomas Rosicky,
Michael Ballack or Pablo Cesar Aimar

I would like to Rafa to have a look at Czech defender Tomas Uflusji (can't spell the name) I am sure you all know what I mean. I am imoressed with him and he done really well at the tournament.

we need 3 top notch players in 3 positions. centre half, centre midfield and right wing. aimar, exteberria and ayala would do for me. :)

Centre-back:- Carvaliho of Porto and Portugal anyone, he is top class and has been all season for Porto, and/or Roberto Ayala.

Centre-mid: Aimar/Ballack/Rosicky, anyone of these would do nicely altough Ballack would probably be the most sutd to the English game.... I'd love to see Aimar though.

Right-Wing:- Nobody really stands out as a right winger for me... all the best ones seem to be left sided Duff/Vicente, mabe there is someone int the youth setup who wold benefit form playing in the first team??

I think Baraja is a given !

I have posted on the News and Articles section prior to this that  Benitez is assessing the situation and the stories emanating from the Mestalla are more than just rumours .

Initially Benitez had seen Baraja as the man to replace Gerrard but at a fee of £8 million it seems Valencia are willing to sell and Baraja is keen on the move .

So its more than likely he could be lining up with Gerrard for the new season  ,and its more than a coincidence that Benitez and Baraja share the same agent !

If i was Rafa in this order

Centre back: Gallas (best defender in prem imo), Carvalho,  Ujfalusi, Dawson, Ayala, Bouma, Gardner

Centre mid: Rosicky, Ballack, Valeron, Aimar, Parker, Cole, Schweinsteiger

Wings: Joaquin, Duff, Exteberria, Vicente, Zambrotta, Wilhelmsson (not seen much of but looks talented), Overmars Petrov, Wright-Phillips?

What I hope for is some unexpected signings. I am not so sure that big name players are right for Liverpool. I have been disappointed with Rosicky in Portugal. He is not the type of player we need. Ballack is a decent player, but will be very expensive. I think we are in for some surprises and I am sure mr. Benitez will spend our money more wisely than Foolier.

We need a new centre back, dont get me wrong i love Henchoz but i think he is past it now, no pace. Right midfield needs sortin too, Ballack cash and swap for hamann wud b a great deal too.
He comes from Spain and he doesn't speak good English,
But we don't care cos he'll turn us into winners,
The European Cup will be ours before he's finished,
Raaaaafaa Benitez!

I'm not sure I will start Finnan at Right back if I'm Benitez. I love Jaime Garragher but not sure if he fits Benitez style but JG should be a super sub when it comes to all 4 defense position. So, I think we need to get a right footed Ashley Cole kind of right back so that both the attack would have more option. Do anyone have any suggestion on the right back?
