Pele predicted an African nation would win the World Cup by 2000 and was wrong, I suspect it is all part of his love of African football. I'm not convinced Africa can win the World Cup in the next 50 years, even with their players coming to Europe to play.

In my honest opinion I think Diouf is a great player. He is hard working, know how to take on defenders and he is full of tricks and trickery. I think Diouf could produce wonders for a better team than Liverpool. The problem for Liverpool is the lack of formation and strategy. If a NEW manager can give the players some direction he might just become very good.
If football is banned in heaven. I'd rather go to hell.

I keep hearing this and I wonder if I'm watching the same player. I was once told that EHD was on top of our "assists" table. I can only assume they are counting throw-ins as I cannot remember him making more than two successful crosses in a game.
He just looks as if his feet are on the wrong legs , taking two touches for easy balls, never looking up,for offsides or other players, never striking the ball cleanly.
Its got absolutely nothing to do with colour but I just do not value any player in the Prem who plays "African". Viera is just as Senegalis as EHJ but plays European and is a team player. All the better African Nations Cup players are grandstanders whose first thought appears to be to look good for the crowd.
Anyone who thinks that Senegal had a great World Cup should watch the French game again, the French were bloody awful and the players we went mad on got away with murder. Houllier was correct in getting rid of the original Spice Boys - he's just got to get rid of the African ones now!

Easy mate, you may upset a certain Big Ben and risk being labelled "a racist"!
While Diouf may have bags of trickery and ball skills, he has to learn to apply them effectively ala Henry. Plus, he can't cross and can't seem to shoot accurately. He needs to develop more and achieve more to justify making the list.

In my opinion the biggest ommission from the list was Ian Rush.  There have not been many better strikers in the game ever.

Are you thinking of Lev Yashin?

Dasaev was in goal for USSR in the 80s and was keeper in the 1988 European Championship final

Rinat Dasaev - Moscow Spartak goalkeeper. Was born on June 13, 1957, in Astrakhan. From the age of 8 he played in the reserve team of the local "Volgar" club, coached by G.Blednykh. In 10 years he started to play in the main formation.

From 1978 to 1988 Dasaev was Moscow Spartak goalkeeper. He won the USSR championship twice, five times won the second place and twice - the third. He won bronze medal in 1980 Olympic games and was a runner-up at the European Championship in 1988. He was named the best Soviet goalkeeper by the "Ogonyok" magazine in 1980, 1982, 1983, 1985, 1987 and 1988. In 1988 he was named as Worlds best goalkeeper.

In autumn 1988 Dasayev signed for the Spanish club "Seville", and after his contract had expired, retired from football.

And who said Georgey Best was English?
Sounds republican to me..Pity they never produced a player with a quarter of his talent;)

A: Shoot the United Fan. Twice.

These "best" lists are a load of *****, a poll would have been slightly more representative
