you have all raised good points but they have all been raised about a guy without convictions. lets give him the benefit of the doubt

Thailand's Corruption Commission itself found out that he had failed to declare all of his wealth  - a serious issue for a leading business man who is also PM - but somehow he wriggled out of any facing any punishment.

money is money, doesnt matter iv it comes from the prince of wales or ronnie biggs end ov the day it has the queens head on it and we need it, other clubs are pulling away..

for example

man u, 70+ and still growin thousand seater stadium
afc new stadium
Chelski new stadium

there are 3 biggest rivles

mite not be bad at the moment but 10 years down the line the effects will hit home,

we need cash now, especialy with the so called chealsea trancefer market.. the bruno chyrou ov today is 10 mill plus, the longer we leave investment the worse it will be,

i understand that its a peoples club, but this day and age to compete at the top u need big money investments and me personaly iv someone like roman abrmam wanted to invest in my club id let him,

think what rafa could do with a endless bank account

mite get slated for this post, but i dnt care, i see what is best for my club

no has mentioned the kraft family yet . They are actualy soccer fans ( i hate the word soccer) but they have invested time and money into the american league . I read an artcle by steve nicol who is working out there and he said that it would not be a bad megre for LFC as unlike the scum we might keep the sprit of the club alive.

We do need money everyone knows that but to sell to this kind of person who will push us into the east like his media links but couldn't care less about the game or club is not what i want to see.

I must admit that with liverpool being the capital of culture a half expected some plans involving goverment grants or lotto money to move us to the docks to further the regeneration of the area but nothing so i guess we will have to see which billionaire decides we are a good investment.

i know chelski went on the cheap but i would have still liked to get the money they ve had this rafa at the helm

It's a sad fact
but
pride,passion,loyalty,commitmant
are words hardly ever used in football anymore
Money talks
If we want to compete with other top clubs, then we have to have the resources to do so.
So I say, if anyone wants to invest millions in Liverpool FC
then I'd welcome it.

Unless we want to be left behind a takeover from a wealthy investor may be necessary!

Just look at Chelsea, yes we hate them!
But they have set the benchmark now and it's up to the rest to compete and catch them.

There have been all sorts of rumours sorrounding various EPL clubs and season by season i feel a few more will go the same way as Chelsea.
Im not saying all will have someone as rich and annoyingly generous as Mr Abromovich, but still its to be expected that some of our rivals will have money available from takeovers and investment.
What are we to do??
Sit as we are with limited funds and watch the rest prosper as we slip down the league for the sake of pride?
No matter who takes over Liverpool FC it will always be the fans club ,after all the fans are its bread and butter,
If we want sucess money is the ONLY way forward, unfortunately hard work, grit, passion and a shrewd manager cannot compete with 2 great players in every position!
It never will !

As for the moral dilema of where these rich investors get their wealth from, well if they have the cash and its deemed legal cash..thats enough for me!
The biggest concern for every LFC fan should be if a takeover does happen, every fan should feel that the investor has the best interests of the club at heart!
In saying that i mean from the tea lady to the players on the pitch and to the every day fan.
This person must want sucess as much as we do and be concerned with the results and performance week in,week out!
Someone who only wants to market merchandise and increase worldwide sales and profits to line their own pockets can stick their billions up their ar.se !

As long as our club remains first and foremost about football, winning and the fans a takeover and large investment can only be a good thing!

if you really love liverpool peewee, do you want this kind of person as part of the club?

as you know andy i live in thailand so i am aware of the "accusations" against him and to be honest if there was truth or strong evidence in the matter im confident he would be held accountable. thailand is not a one party country and there is strong opposition. there is also a strong investigation branch in the parliament. how do i know this? i now work there. he does what any of us would do in relation to tax, he uses the system to his benefit. these are tax laws passed before he came to power and are  not just available to him.

i dont have a problem with the guy, as long as the club is run correctly then i dont see any harm. of course if he wanted to use the club to act illegally then you are 100% correct to be against him andy.

but like i say at the moment there is no evidence to suggest that h will make another bid, but in view of the fact he sold to avoid conflict of interests (also leaving just one other major comms provider in Thailand) i feel his next investment will be out of thailand

I do not have problem in Thaksin investing into LFC as long as it is purely financial investment & he don't interfere in the footballing and financial running of this club.

He made his fortune long before he became PM of Thailand and no self made tycoon is without some accusation of corruption and/or wrong doing. As long as we know the source of his investment is from the sales of his Shin Corp, I don't have a problem. No Thai PM has won a re-election and Thaksin is into the end of his second terms now and is a strong favourite to win his third terms. He has brought Thailand into a reasonably good shape ecomonically after years of poor goverment so while he might have a suspicious (yet unproven) track record, he is not as bad as what you might have read in the press.

No No No No No to dodgy money or a 're-brand' takeover. I'd rather watch us in the Conference League. And watch them there I would. Would all these 'money money' types?

Very few football clubs really make good profits and an investment in a football club is for people who are bored to death but wants to pass his time in something passionate like Abramovich or is a labour of love like Moores.

Only manure, with its heavy commercialism, would attract ann investor who is looking to make huge profits like the Glazers.
