As a lifelong supporter of Liverpool FC who's now living in Thailand, does anyone realise what a sh##e you're about to have as your financial backer?

Thaksin Shinawtra, corporate owner of Thailand plc who, up till this week when the utility workers went on strike to prevent privatisation, was about to shut all bars (except his own) at 12 o'clock, making thousands of Thai workers unemployed. And we, the drinkers, were not going to be allowed out for a late-night bevvy, except in one area, Ratchada in Bangkok, where his mates own the bars.

Has anyone woken up to the fact that this guy is a racist, dictatorial, discriminate, unenlightened, fascist? And you're giving him licence to finance Liverpool's entry into Europe?

Hope he treats you all better than he does the Thai people and the Johnny Foreigners having to live by his rule.
