Rafael Benitez has today confirmed he has signed four new players ahead of the start of next season - with the promise of two or three more to come before the end of the week.
Dutch star Bolo Zenden was officially unveiled as a Liverpool player this afternoon after completing his free transfer from Middlesbrough and he could make his debut in Saturday's friendly at Wrexham.

Benitez also revealed the club have now completed the signing of goalkeeper Jose Reina from Villareal while Mark Gonzales has signed from Albacete and young right back Antonio Barragan has arrived from Sevilla.

The Liverpool boss said: "We have today introduced Bolo Zenden as a Liverpool player but we have also signed Jose Reina, the best goalkeeper in Spain, Mark Gonzales, the best player in Chile and Antonio Barragan.

"We will be signing two or three more players this week."

So Zenden, Reina, Barragan and Gonalez all signed - 2 or 3 to come.

Who could they be?

Kuijt, Milito, Stelios ?

If Stevie leaves I expect someone like Ballack to be signed also.

Kuijt is playing for Feyenoord this afternoon against Alphen A/D Rijn in a pre season friendly.
I am not sure whether the interest has been cooled on him now, with the price tag :(

i guess if Stevie G leaves, we might sign more than 3 players.

Maybe Joaquin, Kuyt, Gattuso and Milito....

Fernando Morientes > 19 < wrote:Maybe Joaquin

Absolutely no chance, Betis have said they have several offers for him which have all been turned down. They will only accpet an offer near his buy out clause, which is 40 million pounds, only Chlesea can realistically afford that.

Real Betis claim to have turned down a number of bids for their coveted winger Joaquin.

The 23-year-old Spain international has been linked with moves to both Chelsea and Real Madrid, however Betis are determined to keep him in Seville.

Joaquin inspired the club to Spanish cup glory last season, and Betis also qualified for the Champions League.

Club president Manuel Ruiz de Lopera confirmed offers have been received but would not reveal who made them.

Joaquin is thought to have a clause in his contract allowing him to depart if any club offers a fee thought to be in the region of £40million.

Ruiz de Lopera told Spanish newspaper Marca: "Things are not calm. It is just that we are not commenting on the offers that we are receiving.

"Why should we if Joaquin is happy?

"The offers that we have been receiving are not like those that other clubs get for their players. But we will only begin to contemplate an offer if it is close to the buy-out clause."

This is a good news for us but not the fans of dudek like me. I hope dudek will stay competitive and show his best under the challenge.

Dirk Kuyt? Not really i think.......

The following signing will be as below:-
1)Peter Crouch
2)Gabriel Milito

don't think Rafa will pay 8 million for Crouch....the only other team interested are West ham and think that should be telling us all something.  ???

if Gerrard goes, i expect to see a 2 HUGE signings to come in...

We're one of the secret admirer of Joaquin. So he can be the next after Reina too.

We do have 30++ million to splash this summer. And so far,
1) Bolo Zenden - free transfer under Bosman rules
2) Jose Reina - 6-8 million
3) Mark Gonzales - On loan until end of season
4) Baraggan - ???
5) i) if Gerrard Stay
      - Matthew Upson for 4m
      - Pablo Aimar or Gabriel Milito for 8m
5) ii) if Gerrard Leave
      - Joaquin for 15m++
                 or
      - Michael Ballack for 20m++
                 or
      - Michael Essien for 20m++
                 or
      - Fernando Torrres for 20m++
