they're were not modest , they made us work our socks off , when they were still a man up , in the first half we rarely troubled their defence , i agree when they were a man down , rafa shud have gone for the kill and brought on leiva for sissoko or babel for sissoko but thats his decision and we have to respect that like sabre said

Why do we have to respect it??

Rafa has made several bad decisions so far this season, he has given us the best squad we have ever had since the Premiership began, but I don't think he is using it as well as he could.

I hate the fact that he overthinks every game.  We are always set up to stop the opposition from playing, and I think that is a good idea when you have a team/squad that is not strong enough to compete, but that is not the case`now.  Why don't we pick our best team and let the oppo worry about us???

i haven't got a problem with rotation, but you would thin by now we would have 9 players who would pretty much pick them selves every week.. mine would be

Reina
Finnan
Carra
Agger
Gerrard
Alonso
Pennant
Torres

(Iknow thay is only 8, but you get the drift).  That would give you a settled spine to the team and a coouple of changes would not interfere with the balance of the team..

Rafa does not want this, its not his way, and we will have to live with that, but I seriously think that we will struggle to win the premiership under him..  I don't have an answer to who could do better, and I am not calling for his head, I would just like him to learn from his mistakes
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

The stats have been put up in other threads to show that the players you've named do start the vast majority of games. The only positions Rafa really rotates are left wing and up front. That's mainly due to having 4 good strikers and no quality left winger.

The only concerns about Rafa I have are that he is willing to drop players (particularly strikers) who are hitting form. I'd rather see players play until they go off the boil, then replace them with quality.

Once again - if any of you believe you know better than Rafa - get your badges, get your hours in, and pinch his job.

Otherwise - shut the f*ck up, you silly b*stards.

In terms of the league, we have had 2 disappointments in my eyes, dropping 2 Points against Birmingham at Home and dropping 2 Points against Tottenham at Home.

We should be 4 points better off and only 2 points behind Arsenal and joint second with Man Utd.

Dropping 4 points in 9 games isn’t great but at the same time isn’t exactly a disaster. Arsenal have started the season on fire but apart from that the others haven’t exactly outperformed us.

:D I couldn't have put it better myself  - we'll probably win the league and this lot will still bemoan the bosses decisions  :no

I was thinking something along those lines earlier today. You can't really say that drawing with Chelsea and away against Portsmouth are major disappointments (though the manner with which we lost 2 points against Chelsea was very unlucky... but then again maybe the 2 points won yesterday were precisely the opposite?). Anyway I agree with all of your post, no one have looked outstanding except the gunners, and so it is up to us to stop their run next week, which incidentally I think we will.

I'm not a big supporter of Rafa but I have to say fair play for having the balls to take SG off as many fans, media etc think that he is untouchable.

It probably does no harm to give a kick up the a*se to some of the players who think that they have a divine right to play in the big games.

Yes, kind of agree this view on the league.

Winning at home, and drawing away, 4 points in 2 games, a 2 points per game, lead you close to be on top.

We have 19 points in 9 games, so we are 1 point above that 2 points per game. The other top teams have done very well so far, but we have achieved this with a blip, and injuries included. I'm optimistic in the league.

i agree with you. but its a hard scenario
firstly, he was starting to impose himself on the game and playing better then he ever had during this dry period.
and momo was paying horrible
if we didnt win the game rafa will get slaughtered for bringing gerrard off.
tactical blunder

plus side though, it gave the players, ALL OF THEM, a reality check. i reckon gerrard needed one badly.

Last season that scenario would have still left us in third place and points wise would be a step back on what was achieved in the 2005/6 season. If you wanted to be picky by only winning all our home games and drawing all our away games it could be argued that the club is stagnating .

:D

I rectify. In leagues where the opposition is decent, it leads you close to winning the league. Yesteryear the first two dominated too much. Anyhow, Liverpool are there with injuries and blips, the point is that the situation is not a disaster, no matter the hysterical and moaning nature of some fans -- not you of course  :D

Wow rafa is a genius, we won a game, woo hoo all is forgiven rafa you're my hero!!

well not quite, I still fail to see the tactical genius of Rafa, what does he see in Momo that no one else sees. I agree with other posters in that we have a good enough squad this season to challenge but for heavens sake lets play the best players!!

Lando I would love to earn 3 million a year for doing what rafa does but I am not growing a goatie, no way!!  :D

Anyway overall I am very happy that we managed an epic victory against Everton and in no way did our celebrations make us look like this was a big deal for us  :eyebrow

Your obviously not local , it was a big deal after last years 3-0 loss and after all the chanting and singing that the bitter tw@ts come out with all game , it was a big deal because we won it with a pen in injury time , it was a big deal because they got feck all off clattenberg after carra tried to perform a boston crab on lescott. The players deserved to celebrate the way they did because, they got one over our inbred friends from across the park.
UP THE PURPS !!!
