This is an awfully strange philosophy, how does it work?

look, all its saying is we could of played a more attacking team, alot of our best attacking options were removed, or should i say, rested, and we were lucky to get a point today, pompy had alot of chances.

But im not ganna point all the blame at rafa, he played a team that he thought could win it, and lets be honest, some players didnt perform

All the players seemed to be half asleep today, don’t know when we travelled down or what the arrangements were but no one was on the ball. Apart from Torres not starting there was no issue with the selection.

1. We are first due to goal difference and with a game in hand. Season is not over you miserable gits.

2. Rotation is automatically at fault when we don't win, but when we win it's hailed as a brilliant move and our strength in depth is praised.

Torres was carrying a knock for Spain midweek and Gerrard has a broken toe...say he starts them today and they both agravate those injuries and put themsleves out til Christmas...then what? the league is gone then, that's what.
Rafa didn't put out his best 11 today but it wasn't just because he wanted to rotate and protect them for the Champions league, he was protecting players who had played injured at international level 2 1/2 days ago....you cannot play a best 11 every game, you have to protect players.
I would love to have seen Torres and Gerrard play but that isn't always going to happen, and like someone just said...Crouch, Benayoun Sissoko are top quality internationals. Are we saying they ain't good enough to wear the shirt outside of the League Cup?

If it had been the FA Cup final in the last minute and we where 0-1 down we would have been desperate.

If it had been 1989 at Anfield against Arsenal then we would have been desperate for a goal.

If it had been the last game of the season, and we only needed a draw for the titel at 0-1 down, then we would be desperate.

We where not desperate for a goal this afternoon. It would have been nice, but we where not desperate.

I have never had any problem with rotation, my complaint isn't about rotation its about team selection. The team looked unbalanced and with little or no creativity. No-one to pick up the second ball on the edge of the Pompey box and little or no pace.

Have to add...everytime mascherano doesn't play...our midfield is over-run. Hope rafa sticks with mascherano and gerrard midfield combo. That is the combo which will bring us glory. Portsmouth were over-running our midfield.
