This is an awfully strange philosophy, how does it work?

look, all its saying is we could of played a more attacking team, alot of our best attacking options were removed, or should i say, rested, and we were lucky to get a point today, pompy had alot of chances.

But im not ganna point all the blame at rafa, he played a team that he thought could win it, and lets be honest, some players didnt perform

All the players seemed to be half asleep today, don’t know when we travelled down or what the arrangements were but no one was on the ball. Apart from Torres not starting there was no issue with the selection.

Get a f#cking grip the lot of you. Man Utd couldn't beat Pompey with a full strength side at Upton Park this season or last season.

Arsenal couldn't do it either, and only Chelsea have beaten them there in recent years out of the top four.

Good Point abs.

He is getting Upton Park confused with Fratton Park though.

Me to, he fecked up again.

Resting players 4 games in unbeleievable.

Resting players who are not 100% fit and carrying injuries against sub standard opposition ahead of a Champions League game in three days is not THAt unbelievable really.

Yes it is. I cannot see the logic in compromising our chances of Premiership success for the Champions League this season. I thought Rafa had realised that.

Torres was carrying a knock for Spain midweek and Gerrard has a broken toe...say he starts them today and they both agravate those injuries and put themsleves out til Christmas...then what? the league is gone then, that's what.
Rafa didn't put out his best 11 today but it wasn't just because he wanted to rotate and protect them for the Champions league, he was protecting players who had played injured at international level 2 1/2 days ago....you cannot play a best 11 every game, you have to protect players.
I would love to have seen Torres and Gerrard play but that isn't always going to happen, and like someone just said...Crouch, Benayoun Sissoko are top quality internationals. Are we saying they ain't good enough to wear the shirt outside of the League Cup?

I’m not sure what Andy has said wrong there, he was speaking sense,

So we where desperate for a goal ?

Jeeze man, some people go over the top.

If it had been the FA Cup final in the last minute and we where 0-1 down we would have been desperate.

If it had been 1989 at Anfield against Arsenal then we would have been desperate for a goal.

If it had been the last game of the season, and we only needed a draw for the titel at 0-1 down, then we would be desperate.

We where not desperate for a goal this afternoon. It would have been nice, but we where not desperate.

2 points is two points mate, whether its at the start or the end of the season. they all count

I have never had any problem with rotation, my complaint isn't about rotation its about team selection. The team looked unbalanced and with little or no creativity. No-one to pick up the second ball on the edge of the Pompey box and little or no pace.

Well, from today's performance, I'd have taken him off at half time along with Crouch.

Agree with that Rock. Not sure it was Mash's exclusion per se, but especially in the second half, there was a huge hole.

Sh1t looks like arsenal are going top.....they are 2-1 ahead.

I did predict that they will win the premier league  :p

So lets just concentrate on the champions league.

FFS! Grim  :(

How many top four sides have come to Upton park in the last three seasons and won? Full strength or not?

Answer on a postcard mate.

Upton Park! :D
In the last 2 seasons
Chelsea have won there twice, United, Spurs, Everton and us have all won there too.

Are you really as thick as pigsh.it or are you just pretending?
You can send me your answer on a postcard mate.  :;):

Yes we were poor. That happens to teams you know - it's not a new thing exclusive to Rafa Benitez.

"So and so should have started..." - are these ramblings coming from the same people who were banging on about our rotation now being "class for class"?

Hmmm.... We got a point today, at a venue where the reigning champs got a point. At a venue where we lost last season.

Now - grow up and stop spitting out the dummy, dummies.

If we'd started with the team we finished with we would've sown up the game in the first half while Portsmouth were still playing "Rope a Dope" .

Stick to hurling abuse Lando , they're more amusing and make more sense than your footy analysis.
