Players concede defeat in the fight for 4th place - Champions league the route?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby morientes_gerrard » Mon Apr 18, 2005 9:22 pm

Do you reckon the only hope for us getting into the Champions League next season will be to qualify through the winning the competition, Hyypia and Dudek today stated that should and would be their preferred route, but would you agree?

Everyone said AC Milan had the best defence but I looked at the Italian League and Juve are 1st and they have conceded less goals, so is it possible? Is the Champions League at our peril?

Come on boys, show Europe how it is done!

Also I feel Cisse's pace is going to be used as a surprise factor in the Chelsea game!

Lets shuff the Champs League up their (CHELSEA) ar*e

Any team has a chance with the pace of Cisse

I don't think our players are conceding defeat. They'll fight until the end of this season.

You're blowing it out of proportion. Of course they players would rather win the CL than finish fourth, if I was in their position I would say the same thing.

Trophy or fourth in England? Let me see.....

No brainer. The players are saying that they would rather win in Europe than finish fourth but they aren't saying that they will give up.

Of course winning it is the preferable route and never did they state that they will give up because nothing is guarenteed. Provided we win against Portsmouth tommorrow, and either Everton or Bolton (or both!) stumbles, then we are back on track with 4 more games to go.

Would Everton roll over for Bolton on the last day if they were already out of it just to make sure we don't qualify?

Im not to sure but everyone says if we win the CL we will qualify next year even if we finnish 5th .

I thought England was only allowed a maximum of four teams in it and i also thought i heard if LFC do win the CL but came fith in the PL we wouldnt qualify .

Could someone please clarify this.
