Parker, woodgate & aj? - Rafas revolution takes three lions!

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Stories around merseyside recently have taken a more anglican bent. Firstly whispers, so quiet you could hardly hear them of the impending departure of Stevie G & his replacement. None other than Chelsea's Scott Parker(poss swap plus £30million). Another one which I've gotten from three different people is that Johnathan Woodgate will never play for Madrid & is on his way to the Red side of Liverpool for £3million plus the rest of the Owen money, apparentlty he already has property in Southport. Two hungry players al la Bolton. Players that need a new outlook but still have enough quality to play for the reds, not only that but English. A much needed quantity around Melwood. Now the nailed on one. Andy Johnson will replace Milan Baros in the summer. Johnson WILL cost £4million & has already agreed a contract in theory. Baros is leaving & has been leaving for a while. Benitez tried to offload hin in the Jan window but prespective buyers will wait untill the summer. Believe me AJ is already a Liverpool player.   YNWA

Doubt it, though i wouldn't hesutate to pick up parker and woodgate, but never aj at the expense of Baros.  Also Baros doesnt want to leave for anyone other than Barca and they WERE looking for strikers during the transfer window.....

Yet another invented transfer rumour.

Woodgate is out injured for the season and is going no where.

dont want any of them to be honest.
parkers not the player he was at charlton where he used to get stuck in, every time i see him for chelsea he`s diving all over the place (a worrying trend at that club). most title winning sides have a great midfield and i couldn`t see parker being the driving force we need.
woodgate is a good player when fully fit but when you have that many different and long term injuries whilst still relatively young i dont think it bodes well. i dont think he`d ever be a ever present cornerstone of a side because like kirkland a injury always just seems around the corner
johnson is playing well at the moment but i`m yet to be convinced he is consistent and not a flash in the pan like marcus stewart or michael ricketts. birmingham basically gave him away to palace as part of the morrison deal, because birmingham were desperate to sign morrison who was the "andy johnson" of the time. in fact i seem to remember morrison giving michael owen finishing tips his confidence was that high.
i think really great strikers tend to show consistent form from a early age and dont usually end up as makeweights in deals.
i could be wrong though, and if we do sign these players i really hope i am.

Lad wheres the rest of the players we were siging?

Woodgate's class... When fit, which at the moment isn't often enough. He's a player i've liked for ages, i mentioned him a while back, then he went to Madrid, also Rafa mentioned him a while back, thats where that came from. Its an old rumour resurfacing.

Andy Johnson isn't and never will be Liverpool class. A good player nothing more. It would be a mistake to sign the lad. Most of his goals are penalties for a start. He's good, but not good enough. He's hardly in Owen's class.

I'd take Scott Parker and i rate the lad as an excellent player. But i doubt we'd go for him from Chelsea. If Gerrard was to leave he would be my choice of replacement as i feel he has the ability and attitude to play at almost any top side in europe, he's not the best player out there but i don't think he'd ever let you down the Gerrard does on occassion.
