As for the new defender I guess we have to trust Rafa as we don't know what his "plan" is but it's not the signing I was hoping for

agree with Woof Woof, can;t comment on Josemi, we will have to wait and see, but Rafa was in Spain a number of years and I trust he knows who to bring in for his plans forward for LFC.

Don't know much about him.

I support Rafa's decision cos he seems that he know what he doing.

I hope that Josemi is not like Jean Marc Ferri, remember Houllier's first signing?

I have heard that he is highly rated but thats not something i can really say is true as i have never seen him play!

I'm sure he is the man Rafa is after though as he has been circling Malaga for a while now!

Strange one really. Never heard of him or seen him play. £2.6-£2.8 is a fair bit of cash but look at Hyypia and Henchoz. The didn't cost much and were unheard of until we signed them. Only time will tell.

I think we where all expecting a big named signing. After all, he did say we would only buy the best. Thats not to say this guy wont be, it just feels like a bit of a let down after all the top names we have been linked with. And hes a left sided defender, a position we kinda have covered. Heres hoping hes better than what we got already

He's a righ tsided defender or a centre half actually. I think Beneiez is strengthening from the back up. Colloccini is next by all reports so at leaast we won't be conceding stupid goals

True, but with our lack of creative midfield, we won't be creating many goals either.

Apparently Josemi rebuked Real Betis when they offered 3 million for his services because he did not consider it enough money and he had vowed to get Malaga the best possible deal .
Josemi is highly rated in Spain and is considered a real talent with a bright future and some have suggested had Benitez remained at Valencia Josemi and Miguel Angel would have been amongst his first additions .
Some go as far to imply the in board fighting at Valencia was due to the clubs refusal to sanction a move for Xabi Alonso who Benitez claimed was the final piece in the jigsaw .

Whether Liverpool have given their blessings to such a deal remains to be seen only time will tell but something has apparently pacified Steven Gerrards demands for fresh faces to be added
