Yeh and it's all to do with grants and the loss of money . Basically if LFC stay at anfield the council will not get the European grants they were promised to redevelope the anfield area . If we move to Stanley park they get the grants.

Igor,

If your comment is right, then it makes SOS's letter sound naive don't you think?

PS how's life at St Michaels?

Igor isn't right that why it doesn't make sense. No offence.

According to the council statement in the Echo -

Liverpool FC also face paying £8.2m of European Objective 1 grant funding that has already been spent renovating Stanley Park in preparation for the building of a new stadium.

Cllr Anderson said: “If Liverpool City Council has to pay the money back, Liverpool Football Club will have to pay the money back.

“Liverpool signed up to that, albeit under different owners.

So in fact if is clear the council most certainly will be resisting a redeveloped Anfield as they would have to either pay out £8.2m in grants back to the EU or pass it onto the club who possibly may fight it.

With the stadium being wrapped up in politics and money we will be waiting a good while longer but at least we have been presented with some information at last. Put it this way I wont be holding my breath on this one now  :D

Tell you what, we better be quick or europe wont have any more cash to give away as grants.

:D

Europe's already a spent force (if ever it was one) economically, may as well ask Greece for the money!

Anyway, why is the Eu or whomever throwing money towards the Liverpool City council? Maybe the Eu want Scouse independence.  :suspect:  :;): like they do with Welsh and Scottish independence. We all know their agenda.

Right on brother , Liverpool had objective 1 status which meant that it was one of the poorer parts of Europe and was entitled to bid for grants from the EU . Which it got and it helped redevelope alot of the city . The stanley park money was a small percentage of it . Anywhoo that's what i was trying to get at before but put it down :censored: Southcoast said it better .

New stadium on the park but new design. 74k but dependent on council otherwise its 68k. Looking like Standard Charthered sponsoring it and Allianz Architects are doing it. Sep 2014 move in supposedly.

Interesting, even at 68k it's still an improvement over the Parry Bowl.

It's a no brainer that they'd have their own designs drawn up to put their mark on the club and lets be honest, no matter how impressive the last design was I can't imagine anyone connected with the club wanting a massive monument to TWIT 'n TW@T as our home for the next century.

The last design was the only good thing H & G did.  Hopefully that puts a little pressure on FSG to come up with a brilliant design for the large stadium this club deserves
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On
