I really hope they can find a way to redevelop - im very encouraged by what they did with the Red Sox stadium . Obviously reality may hit and we will need a new stadium but we will have to wait and see .

Club sale not yet done and dusted and when it finally is it'll still be a long long time (if ever) before we see a new stadium courtesy of John Henry, he hasn't got the money , simples. As for redeveloping Anfield, apart from putting in more exec boxes which means fewer actual fans there's not much else that can be done.

Be careful what you wish for.

Hmm.. Henry might not have the money, but his firm does

I dont think Liverpool have scratched the surface in terms of what revenues a stadium can generate, even with a smaller capacity. We are light years behind in this area. Corporate can be extended, different packages, experiences. If we cant build out there may be an option to build up. With the fanbase this club has all it needs is the right people and we will generate huge income away from Anfield let alone on match days. The set up we have now is still 20 years adrift. Put it this way Im sure these people have already explored the options and have a plan sketched up before agreeing to a £300m deal.

I'd like cheese and pickle sandwiches on brown bread.

I'd also like seats with proper legroom and not midget space like in the Kemlyn Road.

Spectacular’ new stadium plans to go before council
LIVERPOOL FC co-owner Tom Hicks yesterday revealed that new “spectacular” plans for the proposed stadium at Stanley Park will be submitted to the city council before the end of this month.
A team of US architects have completely re-drawn the plans for the new stadium that will create a spectacular home for the club, Mr Hicks said in an interview in the US.
It is likely the new plans will be delivered to the council offices at Millennium House around June 28 to enable planning officers to assess the revised scheme.
Last night, the city council’s regeneration executive member, Mike Storey, said the city had “struck oil” when the club was taken over by Mr Hicks and his business partner George Gillette.
In the interview, Mr Hicks said he is keen to show fans the finished design for the club’s new stadium, to be built close to the current Anfield ground in Stanley Park.
“The design is now final, it’s spectacular and I can’t wait for everybody to see it,” he said. “I think our fans will love it, it’s very creative arch- itecture, very contem- porary but also unique to Liverpool. It is all centred around the Kop.”
The club’s new home is expected to be finished in time for the start of the 2010 season...

From the Boston Globe October 26 2010

Liverpool FC owners given deadline for new stadium

Liverpool fans hoping for a shiny new stadium could get an answer soon - the club's new owners have been given six months to decide what they want to do.

The council's given New England Sports Ventures (NESV) the deadline to try and speed up plans for a new ground.

A new stadium in Anfield would help to improve the area for the people who live there.

It's not yet known whether new owner John Henry plans to build a brand new stadium or renovate the old one.

The council and NESV met on Sunday to talk about stadium plans. They're due to meet again in November.

American company NESV officially took over Liverpool FC from previous owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett earlier this month.

Hicks and Gillett promised a new stadium when they bought the club in 2007 - but that never happened, to the disappointment of many fans.

if they were to build a new stadium do you think they'll use the plans that twit and :censored: paid millions for? Maybe it was all done to keep the fans quiet (and pocket a few million themselves) but if it was possible it was a nice looking stadium.

What do you guys think? Do we need a new design, a redevelopment of anfield, or the new design H&G put together?

New Staduim is the way forward 4 me, yes alot of people r sad about the possibility of moving on from Anfiled but at the end of the day its bricks and plastic seats, its the fans that make the ground special. Imagine how great the atmosphere could be with an extra 20,000 supporters. I think that design was the only thing they did right, i'd be happy if they stuck with it.

What about dropping Anfield to the ground and rebuilding on the current location? It would mean relocating for a season but it might work. We could move into Wembley for a year :D - only fuking way we're gonna get to play there at this rate

:) - yeah but the thread has been going since 2007. I'm asking about now that t&t have left. If they aren't going to go down the redevelopment route then do you think NESV will keep their plans or design new ones? Personally i like the new design t&t put together but it wouldn't surprise me if it'd cost way more than they expected to build and therefore may not be an option. I just hope we don't revert back to the design Parry put together.

...but wouldn't they still have the problem with there being no space around the stadium?
