Supposing we go on whats reported then: Torres + Babel = 56 million.  Carroll + Suarez + Adam (reported 8 mill offer) = 65 million then there no spending big but they are spending.

The fact theyve come in got rid of the crippling debts, appointed Daglish, Clarke and Comoli and are respectable and give us enough cheddar for this window atleast, then i say so far so far.

Summer will tell us everything we need to know. dont let us down :blues:

They didb't bank the money - they could have.. and it was £10m offer for adam in the end.. greedy BP turned it down !

Time for the owners to get behind kenny and offer him a long term deal. no point waiting until the summer now

Not to sound foolish but what does "they didnt bank the" money" mean?

He's saying they spent it on Carroll instead of pulling a Mike Ashley and pocketing the cash from the Torres deal.  Little upset we didn't seal Adam but he will end up going for cheaper in the summer.

Thanks for clearing that up  i kind of took that as a given that they didnt pocket the money. But it still doesnt change the fact that they havent spend a massive ammount on us......YET

Even if we got Adam for 10 million, NESV would of only spent about a little over ten million on us. So people need to not get to carried away yet. However so far the way theyve gone about everything im very impressed.

Like i said come teh summer then well see if their the real deal

so our owners spent 60mil in this window....and then got 50mil back, plus players out on loan so we dont have to page their wage, took a few on loan but their wage is a lot lower than our players.........i say by the end of the season we might be making money at this rate lol

It might seem like panic buys but Torres forced the situation a bit.  The fact that we went hell bent for leather to get Carrol says they had targets and had this planned.  I expect 30-50 mil spent in the Summer.  :nod

not fussed about Adam......Summer should be interesting.

Brilliant effort to get us out of a hole that Torres had put us in. They have paid over the odds, they had little option, but they got stuck in managed to prize away a player llike Carroll on deadline day. Clearly they see this lad as a key piece in our rebuild but not Adam who they would not go the extra mile to secure. At lesat now we know they mean buisness and will spend big to purchase the players we need.

Well I guess time will tell to say how these deals pan out and we can condemn and praise in hindsight.

At moment very pleased once Torres struck his true colours (Damn Spainiard as Hornblower would say) how NESV conducted that transfer

Very happy to see Swerve and Carroll coming to the Pool though 35 million price tag is far too much for my liking. However as Im half full type of guy I look on bright side and says that transfer does  signal intent that we are back in business

Didn't we pay the British transfer record for Kenny when Keegan left? That was a brave move too... Hopefully this will turn out similar for us...

Yesterday was a statement of intent, not only to us supporters but also to the other teams above us. A new era is beginning...

For me, the jury is still very much out on Fenway.  I really like the way we did all our business behind closed doors and unfortunately other teams went mouthing off to the media.  On paper things look great...we broke our transfer record twice in a day or two.

But they didn't really spend much of their own money.  We probably are close to breaking even really in their first transfer window.

Carroll is a bit of a risk and if things don't work out its gonna look like we spunked most of our Torres money away.

Im not in any way upset at Fenway, just not getting too excited.  Ill wait and see.
