Both our full backs are shyte. Clyne isn't a bad defender but is lost crossing the half way line and that's a problem when you are being asked to play as a wingback. If he loses possession up the field he falls over looking for a foul which contributes to us getting stretched on the break. Milner is a much bigger problem though as our momentum completely breaks down anytime the ball ends up on his left foot.

OK so the excuses are that he has a hard job but hes better that TAA. He is a victim of Klopps system, cant be in two places at once and hasnt got cover from a CB.
I watch the game and see someone who is supposed to put good crosses in the box repeatedly fu'ck it up and waste opportunity after opportunity. Am I totally wrong in thinking that part of his duties are not only to get up the line but deliver good balls for the forwards to put in the net? If thats so, he is failing miserably and no amount of sympathy or spin is going to change that. We either need a good, solid, talented wingback or we dont? If we dont than Clyne is our man...

Thommo it's been the same all season. For me he is desperately overrated and needs replacing along with Milner, who I like, but not as a makeshift left back.

Clyne does have on and off performances. When out wide on attack he doesn't really offer much. His delivery is poor to say the least. He reminds me of Glen johnson at times.
However i would priorities other positions first were we are more weaker.

Like Milner hes not really good enough for what we want him to achieve in this system.

Clyne defends pretty well, certainly no big mistakes, but is very poor in the final third, doesn't overlap well, cant beat a man or deliver a cross. We need a player that can do all of those things better and provide defensive stability.

Clynes just gone stale as he did use to look alright bombing on and recall him scoring for Palace at Kop end, but he isnt that player anymore.

With TAA secure as at least deputy Clyne is a saleable asset but predict he wont be replaced this summer, just bigger priorities, though two outstanding full backs would make a huge difference for us.

Klopp says Clyne has had a setback with his back injury. "We are on it. We've sent him to specialists all over world. It just needs time."

What's wrong with his back exactly?

Shame for Clyne but i guess it gives Gomez or TAA much needed experience and a chance to shine.

F**king hell, I was expecting him to return any day now.
I wouldn't mind but when he went off in pre-season it looked so innocuous, backs are temperamental things though, once they go they can clear up in a couple of days or just as easy give you trouble for the rest of your life.
Get well soon Nathaniel.

Cool. If I was him I'd be laughing all the way to the bank. Hasn't played a game this season, but still trousering probably 60k a week of LFC fans hard earned cash in wages. So he's earned approx 720,000 in wages this season alone without kicking a ball.  Same goes for llalana on his 100k a week or 5million a year of lfcs money, so that's 1.2million he has trousered in wages of LFC cash and hasn't kicked a ball either!!!
Whilst the fans have to pay up to 70 quid for a match ticket.
Get these sick note scallies off the wage bill. :(

A bit harsh on Clyne mate.

If you look at his history prior to this serious back injury Clyne had through injury only missed 8 games in 5 years !

Lallana is a worry, looking at his history he tends to miss at least half a dozen games per season although none of them serious however last season he missed 10 games through injury and this season it's already 18.
He had a month out at the very back end of last season (hamstring) when he returned for this terms pre-season training he did his hamstring again. He's an all action player who never stops running and pressing, I fear we'll see another injury this season.

Yes, good point. I hate it when players are absent for long periods of time. They need to be in the side. It's frustrating when we have to play Can, Hendo, Wjnaldum game after game, when we need everybody fit. Also the right back position, the same thing, having to play Alexander Arnold (inexperienced) and Gomez in there. It's a bit makeshift, and just a bit annoying thats all.

Rumour going around that Clyne being injured isn't why he's absent at present.. He apparently failed a drugs test.

Anyone else seen this Rumour?
