Skrtel picks up calf injury

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

More good news  :glare:

Martin Skrtel is a major doubt for this weekend's FA Cup clash with Barnsley after picking up a calf injury in training.
The news comes as a blow to Rafa Benitez, who will now have to decide whether to risk the returning Sami Hyypia.

With Daniel Agger still recovering from a metatarsal injury, it could also mean a place in the squad for Spanish starlet Mikel San Jose, who was on the bench at Chelsea last Sunday.

There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Surely this game would be ideal for bringing Agger back now that Skrtel is injured. Save Sami for Inter give Skrtel time to recover and give Agger some match fitness.

San Jose 6 months ago was nowhere near to play in a top league, let alone a top club. Hope we're not forced to use a very young lad in a moment of high pressure :(. Wouldn't be good for the lad and neither for the team.

FFS, what a disgrace. What next?

I would have thought that big Ronald Huth would have been the spanish speaking centre half that was closer to first team football if you HAD to choose one.  But I think that Hyypia will play with Carra in the FA Cup and it might mean playing Arbeloa at CB against Inter

Why is everyone picking a different centre half pairing for Barnsley and Inter? Are the same two unable to play two games in a matter of days? We need to win BOTH, so play the best pair that we have at the current time, that's Hyypia and Carragher. Play them both in both games.
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

Was only a matter of time in truth.

Sooner or later you'll all come round to John Houlding's thinking. As it was me John Houlding who founded this club.
