well in that case the manager of brazil must be clueless then, considering he picks lucas for the brazilian national teamon a regular basis.

just on a sidenote have you actually ever been to a game and watched lucas play?

Yes the manager of Brazil is Clueless...And he doesn't watch Liverpool games i tell you ,as all of my brazilian friends tell me. And yes when Lucas starts playing in official Brazil matches then i'll pay more attention...

The only question i have for you is if you actually ever watched Lucas Play? Cause you all seem blindfolded and bought for a player which is yet so show an ounce of top premiership material. It's not a coincidence that in a year in which we are showing the poorest level of play in the past decades ,Lucas is your shining light of talent.

Give me ONE quality in which Lucas excels in just ONE.

this forum is all about opinion isn't it? so therefore i for one totally agree with you mate about Lucas!

people can say what they like about players like Lucas,it doesn't bother me anymore-he's not worth my valueable time in life anymore. btw unlike some, i do & have been to games home & away enough times to give my opinion so there you have it.

so i totally agree with you mate,i would love someone to explain to me also in which quality they think he excels in also, cause i'm tired of waiting. my patience ran out with him a while ago-but hey it's albout opinions & i can't be @rsed to discuss his lack of ability as a so called footballer anymore!

the brazil manager now is the same guy that had lucas at gremio so its no wonder he favours him.
also brazil cap a serious amount of players due to the amount of fixtures they play and tournaments they enter.

i didnt think he had good season last year in fact quite the opposite.this lad cost us 12 odd mil 4 years ago and came with a lot of hype being brazilian and captain of the under 21's.he was touted as a promising attacking free flowing footballer, and imo has come nowhere near it.he has featured in over a hundred matches for us and he's had way way to many bad games to remember the good ones.
you cannot compare him to gerrard as when stevie was 23 he was ten times the player and at 25 captained a team to win the european cup.gerrard has had a fantastic lfc carreer and now he's ageing we still look for him to haul us out of the sh1t everytime and write him off when he doesent,i dont see it like that its more like now is the time for others to step up and carry the can and the truth is, if the likes of lucas upped his game we wouldnt be so heavily reliant on an ageing gerrard.
this season he has shown some progression and i think its a lot to do with the partnership of him and mereiles more than roy's influence.
i hope he continues to progress and tbh it's about time.
the idea of a brazilian that will get better at playing an ugly style of football, without any skill but will show up and put in a good old shift just doesent cut it with me and i really hope lucas amounts to better than that.

The lad cost 6m. Babel was the overpriced, overhyped superstar.

Lucas is doing well, not fantastic but improving. In a strong squad could be our fletcher. But, because the team struggles it highlighted his faults. In a great team, Lucas will do well.

sorry my fault for looking it up on wikipedia :suspect: .
still though after 4 yrs with us i doubt we would get much more than that for him anyway.

The Lad showed a real maturity earlier ,he held that midfield together after Gerrard's dismissal and run himself ragged even to the point of running United's counter attacks offside .... he is starting to consistently be one of our best players game after game ....long may it continue

I thought he was average against the Mancs, gave away silly freekicks and poor passing.

He put in a good honest shift today and comfortably outshone Mereilles who had a bit of a shocker for me. I dopn't think Lucas should be an every game starter if we're serious about being a contender again in the future but he's the best we've got to play that role at the current time.

I must have been watching a different game, cos I thought Lucas, Kuyt and Maxi were bloody awful.

agree with this completely. Lucas looked the better player of the two today but that's probably more down to Meireles having a shocker.

Lucas does a tidy job and looks comfortable in the middle of the park and did a great job when Gerrard was sent off but like you say Scott, if we're serious about mounting league challenges and going on decent cup runs, he can't be a permanent fixture
