Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

We should come out all guns blazing. Id like to see Stevie get of the mark for the season here, Robbie too. Another 3 points will do just nice.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.

The team that played the second half at Sunderland with only one change, Babel in for Yossi should see the job off. I see Robbie scoring his first of the season; i am looking forward to Ngod being introduced in the later part of the second half, i think he is a real attacking threat compared to Kuyt.

Its going to be a diffcult game but we are LFC and we can beat anybody. After the sunderland game , we have got to step up a few notches . I'd be tempted to start yossi back on the right and drop kuyt , downing is a real handfull but i believe our defence can handle him even if they don't have kuyt to help . Bring back Agger and drop arbeloa who is totally cra.p , bring back finnan or push carragher out to the right . Babel will be the key here , we have missed his pace in the past few games and i hope rafa starts with him , we need a huge win to make up the goal difference . If we get one early , boro will have to open up and attack , thus we can hit them on the break . Alfonso Alves and Tuncay will be a handful as well , boro have quality strikers and could punish us if we are not at our best defensively for this game. I'm going to go out and say 3-0

Reina

Carragher              Skrtel                  Agger            Dossena

Yossi                     Gerrard               Alonso           Babel

                            Torres                Keane

I wouldn't be surprised to see Skrtel (if available) brought in to deal with the physical presence of Alves as he can be a bit of a battering ram and Hyypia and Agger may just struggle against him. I think we need to start with Gerrard and Alonso in midfield as Plessis has maybe looked a bit out of his depth for the first time in the last couple of weeks (against Liege and Sunderland).

Starting 11:

                 Reina

Arbeloa  Carra  Skrtel  Dossena

Kuyt  Gerrard  Alonso  Benayoun

           Keane  Torrres

One win against the usual under achieving Spurs team doesn't make 'Boro world beaters, Liverpool will have to be careful all the same on the back the past two lethargic performances but I see us running out 2-0 winners come 1/4 to five on Saturday.

No Babel mate ? We've clearly lacked his pace and presence in this past few games . If babel does not start , i'd think rafa might even throw Ngog out there

Reina

               Carra  Agger

Arbeloa                           Dossena
             Alonso

                       Gerrard

          Kuyt                 Babel

                Keane

                        Torres

I think thats what it should look like, Keane and torres up top, Kuyt and Babel working away just behind them in side left and right positions.

Maybe have that Keane stays for the majority up top but alternates sometimes in a triangle with Kuyt and Babel.

Full backs provide width.

Personally I would have Babel in there, but that was my guess at what Rafa will go with. Even though Rafa has said that Babel should be okay for Saturday I just get the feeling he'll start him on the bench and bring him on around the hour mark, but with Rafa you never can tell!!   :D

Well Keane has scored for his country so I'm gonna back him to take it into the weekend :)
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road
