LIVERPOOL VS ARSENAL - We owe these one

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I think it will be a very good game to watch and I dont mind admitting I like the way Arsenal play their football. Their probably the best team to watch (bar Liverpool :D ) I just hope we do them this time around, afterall we do owe them.

Knowing Rafa he'll have two eyes on PSV and an eyelash on the gooners, that could be our stumbling block.

We need to be on our game for this one. They wont be easy so i will be satisfied with a 1-0 but i would love to see us put 5 or 6 past them for the embarrasment weve seen from them this season

I truly think that we're a better team than they are. Yeh they beat us 3 times this season but 2 of them were in the cup, with not the best ofr squad in the pitch and full of reserve players that hadn't played together. I think we'll have a decent side against them and that Rafa will only rest a couple of  players

I'm just scared that the strikers will miss every sitter and chance they will get.

So who do you guys think'll start the game? with the game on Tuesday will he go all out- andif so who does this include as our first team doesn't necessarily pick itself anymore with Masharano, Aurelio, and Arbeloa all getting games lately. Then who plays on the right- or in the middle? Do we play Gerrard there but then have to put Pennant on from the start. Or do we use Masch, Sissoko or Alonso in the middle and Gerrard out right?

God i wish we had this problem up front??!!

I won't be able to see the match as I have an away match at 3 and it takes an hour to get there. So it's radio all the way for me. In a funny way I not that bothered maybe because I couldn't take watching us get demolished again.

1-1 I reckon

They dont have as many injuries for this game as first thought. Henry's out, as is Van Persie. But thats about it.

Adebayor is back after a 4 match ban
Eboue and Clichy are both back after using the international break to recover from their injuries.

So they are only 2 players away from a full team.

Anyways. Its gonna be a close game. open start, then very cagey for a bit. Whoever scores first will win it. - I just hope its us!

I think this team would out muclse the Gunners and get us the three points

                                                     Reina
Finnan                    Jamie c                       Dani a                  Risse

  Sissko                 Alonso                            Masherino          Geerard

                            Fowler                        Beelamy

Wot do you reckon  we have tried and failed to match them tecinicaly maybe beeing a bit like Bolton and just beating them up may give us some joy.

sort your midfield out grayghost!

Momo on the right wing??  - he can't take people on, he can't cross, he's a box to box destroyer, who breaks up the play, and would be useless on the right.
Gerrard on the left?? - no, for so many reasons.
2 defensive midfielders on the centre - so where's are attacking spark going to come from? - the creativeness you need from the centre?

I would like to see:

                      Reina

Finnan     Carra      Agger        Aurelio

Pennant   Alonso    Gerrard      Risse

              Fowler     Bellamy

Pennant and Fowler both excelled in the last reserves match - i know it on a reserve match, but if they are playing good football - then they deserve to be there. But thats my opinion - i dont think rafa will start robbie.

Arsenal have a very quick back line, so I'm not sure how bellamy's pace will work against them, so I might be tempted to play Kuyt or crouch instead of bellamy.

I'd agree with that - although what about someone like Arbeloa in place of Aurelio? He did really well against Barca so may shut down Arsenal's running style as well. either way it'll be nice to see Gerrard in the middle.- as it'd be nice to see Fowler start but i can't see it against such a quick young defence like arsenal's.

this would be my team:

                                          reina

                        finnan     carra     agger     riise

                 pennant     gerrard     alonso     gonzalez

                                  kuyt     bellamy
auerillio
momo
mascherano
fowler
zenden

i would go at them early try and win the game as early as we can then make wise substituations to rest key players for psv

but whatever rafa picks i fancy us to make it fourth time lucky against the gunners this season
