At the moment bringing Kuyt on is pretty much like declaring in cricket. Gerrard scored after Kuyt came on and Rafa was so annoyed he took him off straight away :D

I thought it was an excellent performance from the players, sure we had so much possession in the first half but no cutting edge, so thank babel for scoring before half time.

Gerrard was brilliant, his 3rd goal was a cracker.

Alonso did really well, dictated the midfield and tackled well.

Torres- Crouch partnership? doesnt work for me, first half showed they lacked understanding.

Good solid patient performance, just what we needed.

I had a accumulator with

Peterborough 8-2
Bury 2-1
Liverpool 5-0
Spurs 1-0
Dundee 3-1
Juventus 5-3
Barcelona 0-0 so far :(

Hopefully a good night turns into a great one

I said I was going to be mad if rafa didn't have youth on the bench, It was a waste of time bringing Kuyt on. Could have given Nemeth his debut or Lindfield or anybody else for that matter

great win! in the 2nd half there where glimpses of the fluency we showed at the start of the season ... but on the other hand ... it´s just luton ...

but good movement in the final area and fluent direct play is certainly the key for success ... we have to keep that going.

The substitution was clearly designed to give Kuyt a chance at a goal.  What it did instead was highlight exactly why Kuyt is nowhere near good enough. :no

Decent enough performance all told and we're through to the next round.  Say what you will but the FA Cup is a good a chance as any for silverware this season.
