Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I still don't understand why people were praising Masch a few days ago, and now calling him stupid.  I'm sure he would be pretty angry if you praised him on his return game when he scored, because he seems to be a man of principle.

It was not 100% his fault.  He had 1 yellow yes, but the second yellow was given for something it should not of been.  He asked a question, as did Torres, 2 yellows that were ridiculous.  And you can't say it was for his mouthing off, I didn't know we could give late cards in football?  So after a bad tackle, the ref can decide to give a yellow card to the player 10 minutes later when he made up his mind?  NO.

The fact is what Masch did to receive the yellow (ask a question) was not worth a second.  Thats why it's not 100% his fault, and why I'm shocked at some supporters.  So brutal to the players, thrashing them every chance you get.  Half the people I wouldn't want to be my fans if I played for Liverpool.  Saying Alonso was wrong for going to the birth of the baby?  WTF is wrong with some of you people FFS.  :veryangry

i think the fans praised him for his performance and even after the loss to manure.. his performance was still got no question by all the fans...

they just think what he did against the referee was wrong...  :)

Firstly I think Mascha is a brilliant player and I hope he stays at Anfield forever!! but.. and here we go, I think he deserved the second yellow card at Old Trafford, not because like the clown Andy Gray says, he only asked "whats happening", but the fact is he was having a go at the ref on every decision.  Its like when a ref books a player for consistent fouling.  The one that finally get the player a card is not always the worst one.

Bennet is a d1ck.  we all know that and so should Mascha, it was always going to end with an early bath for him.  I just hope he has learnt his lesson and concentrates on what he does best.
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

I agree with that. I was watching the match thinking - he's lost his feckin' head, he's going to get sent off, somebody calm him down. Stevie, as captain, should have sorted him out - he's been through this before - remember he got sent off early against Everton? Masch and Torres were TOO pumped up for the match - Torres booking was silly as well, I don't see why he needed to push for a manc to get booked.

We lost any chance of getting back into the match, and are also weakened for the crunch match at the weekend.

These things will settle down with experience and maturity.

MASCHA CHARGED

FA charges Liverpool's Mascherano

Mascherano was sent off in the first half of Sunday's game
Liverpool's Javier Mascherano has been charged with improper conduct following his sending-off against Manchester United on Sunday.
Mascherano must serve a one-match suspension for the red card, but could now miss an additional two games if he is found guilty.

The charge relates to his reaction towards referee Steve Bennett after being sent off.

The Argentine has been given until 1800 GMT on Thursday to respond.

The case is scheduled to be heard on Friday 4 April.

The 23-year old appeared to question Bennett's decision to caution Fernando Torres, and was then shown a second yellow card himself.

Mascherano will definitely miss Sunday's Merseyside derby at Anfield.

Liverpool's next two Premier League games are against Arsenal and Blackburn.
