Hamman and finnan - Right to sell

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby sparky1970 » Fri Aug 20, 2004 8:31 pm

I started a topic a few days ago re: hamman i thought that he would not fit in to our new style of play, I understand why a few people replyed supporting him and finnan but i stand by my post that both of them will not be at anfield next season and that it will be of benefit to the club if they are replaced, we cannot afford to look backwards we need to buy more dynamic players to move us to the next level, the exact reason why rafa has bought alonso and garcia more to come hopefully.

Why post the same topic again?

You have no football knowledge at all.

Don't post the same topic twice over, its annoying and pointless.

I think Benitez will look to rotate the squad and so i can see Hamman playing quite a lot this season, he is definately a very good experienced premiership player who we have always missed when he's been injured, he is different to any other player in our squad and so he gives us other options- either from the start or from the bench when we want to close games out. I would be sad to see him go.

Sell. Subs should come from the academy.

I find it quite amusing when some members suggest certain players will or should be sold, and almost immediately there are a few particular contributors,to the forum, who slag off their opinion,as though they have no knowledge of football. Why only a few weeks ago when it was muted Murphy should go these same people lambasted such an idea and yet our new manager felt the same way and Danny was gone. When certain sections of the Forum wanted the end of the Houllier era, they were accused of not being loyal and yet it seems most of the Liverpool playing staff felt the same as the majority of fans,a change was needed.Rafa arrived and any suggestion that Owen could be sacrificed was met with calls of you have no football knowledge and Michael too was gone.Proving the ones who claim they have a good football knowledge, really know diddley squat.
Well I will be taking my usual seat tomorrow in the knowledge that 3 of the staff,2 players and a manager, that I felt had to be off-loaded for Liverpool to move forward, had to go.Danny Murphy wasn't one of those players, but no player is irreplaceable,SG aside.
A new era is unfolding and if the new manager feels there are still players he needs to show the door, then he has my full backing. There could still be more surprises for those who claim to have all the football knowledge.

Football is full of opinions and lets face it , there are a few banded about on here from time to time .

Sometimes we mistakenly believe that just because we advocate a certain player leaving or a particulary policy that the club are about to jump up and take notice and do accordingly. Thats naive in the extreme if we honestly believe that.

I love this forum cos it gives the ordinary man a platform to express his or her views, what i don't appreciate are cheap put downs and insults just cos there is a disagreement on a partictular issue. Sometimes a lot of good quality content can be lost in the delivery and attitude in which an opinion is expressed.

Sparky has the right to express his views on Hamann and others are free to express theirs. For the record I feel this will indeed be Hamann's last season at Liverpool and he can leave head held high on a job well done. For the last 3 or 4 seasons he has been one of our most consistent players and should be afforded the respect he is due.

Walk on ....

totally agree.....I actually think once the new players have found their feet then the January sales may see the departure of Hamann.

My point was crystal clear.

Why replace quality with quality? Why not replace ****** with quality.

If you've got 3 world class players and a top class one and you have to sell one who are you goig to sell if finances aren't an issue?

Selling good players unless you ahve a replacement lined up is damn right stupid. Suggesting we sell Hamann because we have Biscan and Diao as backup is insane, i know who i'd rather have on the bench.

Selling Hamman is bad business, we need quality and experienced sub players.
