Hamburg wants hamman - Should we keep him or let him go

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

News just came in; Hamburg wants Hamman for next season. I said that let him go and give John Welsh or Diarra a try in that midfield area. Any comment ?

I WOULD LET HIM GO, BUT ONLY AFTER A REPLACEMENT HAS BEEN SIGNED - THE TWO MENTIONED ABOVE WILL NOT CUT THE MUSTARD.
IN TERMS OF A HOLDING PLAYER VAN BOMMEL IS GOING TO BE AVAILABLE FOR NOWT IN THE SUMMER.

I love Hamann but maybe he is just not in Rafa's future plan. So, we should let him go and find a replacement as well. Any good suggestion?

Thank you for supporting this forum. This is my first time and it’s feeling like a virgin. Anyways … Since Liverpool have no money , might as well let these two boys play. Unless VAN BOMMEL is free for next season and if he free , will he come to Liverpool .

Van Bommel, seeing form his battles with Arsenal, is quite OK with physical battles. But then, Arsenal's players are a wee bit light and can't compare to the likes of players of Bolton, Everton, Saints etc. who are physical battle merchants. Hamann can mix it up but he is woefully lacking in pace and gets caught out more and more as time goes by...effects of ageing?

I can't see Hamman will be offered a new contract by Mr Benitez at the end of the season.

If he does leave this summer, then I wish him all the best for the future and thanks for memories for what he done to us.

I'd ideally keep Hamann as a squad player,

But if he really wants to go then he is replaceable.

Good luck to him whatever he decides coz he has been good for us over the years

i think he has been a great servant to the club and was a green defensive shield for our back four when our defence was the tops during the 00\01 and 01\02 seasons, however with the new manager and new system he doesnt fit in and doesnt have the legs, im glad rafa kept him and gave him a go and it just didnt work out, he should back to his native germany and end his career in his homeland, was truly worthy of being our 1 time record signing,

Hamann has been a very important player to Liverpool. But now he is getting older, and it might be a good idea for him to finish his career in Germany. Hamann has been one of the most consistent performers at Liverpool and a model professional. I can't see no wrong in him leaving on a free in the summer.

Btw what if Houllier hadn't pulled Hamann off in that game? That was the worst managerial mistake I have ever seen. Could we have gone all the way?

It's seems that most of us want him to go because he 's too old for the club . The next question is what is RB plan . Will he try the young player or will he buy another new player?

Don't you know Houllier signed Gary McAllister when he was 35 years old, we won the treble with him.

Hammann is a very good squad player with us and has got a lot of experiences more than our players, in my opinion.

Hamman has been great servant with this club and have done a lot of things for us. No point to say that he is too old for us, don't be like a d1ck!!!
