the starting eleven last night have scored TEN goals between them in all competitions this season (carroll three, adam two, skrtel two, kuyt one, henderson one and johnson one). city have three players (ballotelli, dzeko, aguero) who've scored more than ten on their own.

it was so predictable last night again. lots of passing but no movement off the ball in the final third. between the two boxes we played ok but we were toothless.

Our Midfield lacks the quality, skill and technique to unlock defenses on a consistent basis. We dont have enough quality skillfull, high technique players or good enough passers of the ball to play the pass and move style Kenny Dalglish wants us to play.

Our look at our midfield and i dont see enough goal scorers or goal makers, Gerrards world class but wont be here forever, Maxi scores and links well with others but again is winding down his career, Lucas is a busy and tidy player but offers nothing offensively, Spearing's the same as lucas but to a lesser level, Adams decent but should be no more than a squad rotation guy IMO as he is not consistent or mobile enough, Henderson is so average and has no particular talent, Downing is Mr 6/10 he has practically zero goal threat and is just decent, Kuyt has no skill or technique.

To get to that next level from decent/good team to title contenders we need more top quality players going forward, currently we have Suarez and Gerrard who are world class, with Bellamy and Maxi who carry a goal threat but there both on the wrong side of 30, this Liverpool team still requires significant investment to go the next level IMO.

Just watching Monday Night Football which showed up a shocking stat

LFC are 2nd in the league of "number of chances created" - 292 so far

LFC are 20th in the league of "Percentage of chances taken - 8.22%

???

It's true we are creating chances and in several cases we have been very unlucky!! The woodwork has played an amazing role in a somewhat frustrating season so far. Carroll gets all the flack but Suarez for all his brilliance hasn't scored many goals and that simply cannot be ignored especially as it is the midfield that gets an incredible amount of criticism.

Thats the frustration

I would be far more worried if we were 20th for percentage of chances created

But we have just spent over a 100 million players that were supposed to help us offensivly...

Downing, Adam, Henderson, Caroll are all players that should have got us goals. Are you telling me we just :censored: away all that money?

So the owners should forget that money and those contracts and give andother 100 million cause the 1st wave of attacking players brought in failed...?

Suarez is not a #9. He drifts wide, and creates chances for himself that are then difficult to convert. How many chances have been created for him? Not many. Because he often has to go it alone the chance is much more difficult to score (his pearler out of nothing at Stoke being a prime example). Hes having to score worldies, because there aint much creativity coming through midfield.

Carroll never gets involved in any of the build up, has been sat in the box, waiting for everything on a plate. If he was a prolific finisher this would almost be acceptable, but he aint.

Our defence has been solid. Not conceeding has allowed us to pick up the odd 3 or 1 points.

In other seasons we would have lost a lot of those games.

We are as woefull under kenny as we were with hodgson !!!!! The only improvement is in defence.

30 goals in 26 league games.

And people wonder why we are stuck in seventh. That's a pathetic tally.
