Cesar has apparently denyed a 6 month loan move to LFC, because he wanted a longer deal. It might work out in our favor in the summer, as he is out of contract at Real, and would ultimately move to Anfield on a free.
As with Carson, it doesnt look as if we would bring him in over the January transfer, so Rafa would have both options to look out for. This definetly will signal the end of Dudek and will bring about a challenge to be No. 1. keeper. We might see Kirkland drop down the pecking order pretty soon, not cos of his ability, but because he is constantly injured.
The articles are here if you want to read:
Leeds keeper Neil Sullivan has backed understudy Scott Carson to be a major hit in The Premiership.
Sullivan's experience has limited Carson's appearances at Elland Road, but a decision not to sign a new deal has brought a wealth of interest in the youngster.
Liverpool are currently leading the chase for Carson, but Chelsea are also believed to be monitoring the situation - and Sullivan believes that whoever signs him will be getting a fine player.
"Without a doubt, Scott will be a huge success at Chelsea, Liverpool or anywhere else," said Sullivan.
"He is outstanding and has so much natural ability it's unbelievable.
"Scott is also a good kid who works and wants to learn everything there is to know about goalkeeping."
and this:
Real Madrid goalkeeper Cesar says that talks about a move to Liverpool have been put on hold until the summer.
Reds boss Rafa Benitez originally wanted to bring Cesar to Anfield with Fernando Morientes, as cover for the injured Chris Kirkland.
Benitez wanted Cesar on a short-term deal for six months, but the 33-year-old was after a longer deal.
Although it now seems the proposed move is dead, Cesar still says that he could move to Anfield in the summer, when talks will resume.
"We have put the subject on hold until Junes unless something unexpected happens in the meantime," said Cesar.
“I have spoken with Benitez on a number of occasions and he wants me to join him at Liverpool."
Real's second-choice keeper is out-of-contract at El Santiago Bernabeu in the summer and seems to be eyeing a move to England.
Benitez has truned his attention towards Leeds' young shot-stopper Scott Carson, but he has still said that he would also like some experienced cover for Jerzy Dudek.
