For this emotional return to the scene of one of the greatest cup finals in history, I expect a severely understrength team. With the current injuries we have, and an important christmas fixture list infront of us, and the fact that we have already finished top of the group i can see starts for

with hammil, anderson, El Zhar, james smith/Darby on the bench.

the question marks for me remail in the centre - will our captain get a rest, or will alonso be left out as he's just come back from a minor injury. Or maybe (but unlikely) hammil to partner guthrie.

Also due to injuries to aurelio, zenden, warnock, kewell and gonzalez, riise has become a mainstay on our left and playing 90mins of every game - is it time to give him a breather before the december run in? - i would want to... but who do you play.  If aurelio is fit i would def play him in this game.

Long haul trip to Turkey for a meaningless game in terms of our qualification?  Send all kids and reserve players.  No Gerrard.  No Alonso.  No Kuyt. etc.  Why make the lads travel unnecessarily?  Hell, send Ablett to manage for the evening and give Rafa a breather too!

Antwi isnt in Champs League squad we had to register and neither is El Zhar as he was signed too late...
