I know Kuyt is a machine in terms of match fitness but he has played twice for Holland so I hope he can give it the full 90mins on Sat. Or if we need to rest players I would prefer Rafa start strong and then make changes once the game is won, not the other way round.

Perhaps that's a good thing, because this team, just when we think the bottle is empty they fill it to the tops  :)

I have the same concerns, but I have a lot of trust when I hear the captain talking and when I hear the lads. They can do it.

What I'm not concerned about is about Rafa rests as some mates. I do think Rafa has changed this season and the times he hasn't used players like Alonso or Torres it was for medical reasons. We even had a Torres reinjury precisely because we wanted him back soon from injury.

So I'm pretty sure that Rafa will go with the best out there.

the trouble is, with the chelsea game well and truly on the horizon rafa will be forced to use his skwwwwaaad.....

Sabes im just worried because we were on such great form this stupid break came at the wrong time, We have to get our momentum back now, Whos gonna be tired coming back from the break whos gonna have a little knock that Rafa wont risk, Before mate we had a nice settled team who were flying.

Im just hoping Saturday dosnt through up any nasty surprises team wise

I would go with:
                            Reina
  Arbeloa        Carra        Agger       Aurelio
  Kuyt           Gerrard       Alonso      Riera
                   Torres            Babel

Subs: Cavaleri, Skrtel, Dossena, Lucas, El Zhar, N'Gog, Bennayoun

His last three games, Torres hasn't looked like enjoying being up front on his own.  I think would rather play Babel up front than Lucas or a knackerd mascherano in the middle

Torres has been thinking more on Fulham than Turkey the last two games so I'm pretty sure he'll be ready for the Fulham game.

Alonso hasn't been rested either but I think with his amount of accumulated games he can afford perfectly to play.

Joe suspects that we may have a knackered Mascherano but I'm not too sure about that. Not that he punnished his muscles and articulations in Bolivia, it's simply that his body didn't respond at all to the lack of oxygen. I will try to google a bit about how other international players  came back from a game in high altitude, as I'm not sure right now.

Riera was played one game and he had a rest in the team recently, I think he can play 65 mins perfectly.

So formation wise I would like to keep the Alonso-Mascherano axis, with Gerrard in the position he's terrifying the best teams of Europe. Riera 65 mins, then Babel. If necessary bring Lucas for the last 12 minutes. Kuyt in the right.

It's not all bad, Deadly got two goals for Holland and Riera scored the winner for Spain to go with their goals from the Villa game. Gerrard had a decent game for England, Torres apprently looked sharp and Danny Agger got a much needed 90 mins under his belt. We've got players in form but no doubt there will be a few changes for this one. I can't see Masch playing as he's been half-way round the world so it's gonna be up to the likes of Lucas and whoever else gets a run out to do the business. I don;t think Rafa will play our strongest team for this game, he will save it for Wednesday night.

Probably we won't see the ideal eleven in the game, but we can't see a team that is far from it.

Mascherano having travelled and all is understandable, but we can't make a massive amount of rests in a game in which you could send the message you want the league.

international football usaully brings bad news, but weve escaped injuries and our boys have done well and scored some goals so they will be coming back full of confidence

I like that idea, but I don't know about Babel. Last season he was undoubtedly a super sub, but I'm not seeing it this season. He's got talent but he doesn't cause much nuisance on the wing.
