I thought this as well Scott, went up against Mata and did very well against him, very good performance from him yesterday

Also playing at home will make these young lads feel more confident, Just a hunch.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

Well Johnson is out for the start of the season so that rules him out. Kelly will start at RB on Saturday.

I prefer Kelly for RB position. I think Johnson will play at LB for most of the season which is possibly why we haven't bought a new LB.

In a slight defence of Flano the omission on Kuyt probably didnt help the lad today because he covers so much ground down that side. If we must play Flano then its imperative the kids got someone busting a gut up and down that side to give him a hand.

Yep ,great call ,let's sub every player which is responsible for a goal. Flano is our best RB and he should be given time to proove his quality.

I thought he was doing alright today, until the goal allowed.  He then seemed to be trying to do too much to make up for it.

Honestly, I see him in the future becoming a defensive midfielder.  I think his tenacity and pace would be great for that role.

Bad mistake today. Has already done it aswell, against Villa at the end of last season for Downing's goal.

I'm sure that the kid will be great in the future, but for now I'll stick with Kelly, even though we want him to be a CB in the future. Flanno needs to improve a bit more, he's still only 18 after all.

Kelly was boss today. And tbh if he keeps performing like this I can't see any reason for dropping him in favour of Johnson.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.

Kelly seems to have the attributes to make a central defender to partner Carra as I am not convinced about neither Agger nor Skrtel, both of whom canbe horribly exposed. This is if we don't buy a central defender in the mould of Cahill. We'll concede too plenty to be genuine contenders with the likes of Agger and Skrtel.

kelly was superb yesterday and fully vinidcated Kenny's decision to put him back in the line-up. hopefully it won't have dented Flanno's confidence too much and I suspect he will ge ta chance in mid-week to pick himself back up after a slightly suspect game against Sunderland last weekend.

Flanno had a shocker against Exeter last night!  Needlessly giving away possession and a heavy 1st touch at times!
I tend to group Flanno Kelly and Robinson together and i was interested to see who would get 2nd season syndrome, and so far its definitely Flanno!

He cost us the full 3 points against sunderland by ball watching and not closing down the winger quick enough and then last night looked quite poor! Hopefully he gets the head down in training and gets a bit of confidence back!

I was impressed with Robinson last night though, surprised me with a few headers and tough tackles, tends to keep possession quite well, although did notice him get pushed off the ball once by the winger!
