Drummerphil tributes & rememberance - Leave your respects he

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby jonnymac1979 » Wed Nov 01, 2006 6:44 pm

I received a text message from Ian ‘Dalglish’ this morning at 01:08am.  I was asleep so didn’t get the message until I woke up for work at 06:30am this morning and this is the first chance I’ve had to offer my deepest condolences to Karen and the family.  I’ve since spoken to Ian on the telephone and thanked him for letting me know.  It was terrible news to hear and it was a shock to the system when I read the message first thing this morning.

The reverence and awe Phil was held in, in this small part of the internet is shown by how many people have logged on to this forum in the last few months to see how he was feeling, while offering their prayers and support.  I’m convinced more messages will follow.

Phil, Rest In Peace mate, you’re going to be missed around here.  You were an inspiration to everyone.

Karen, and the children, my deepest sympathies go out to you all.  I sincerely hope the tributes left here to Phil bring you some comfort at this time.

John

When you walk through a storm,
Hold your head up high,
And don't be afraid of the dark,
At the end of the storm is a golden sky.
And the sweet silver song of a lark.
Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Tho' your dreams be tossed and blown,
Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart,
And you'll never walk alone.
You'll never walk alone
Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart,
And you'll never walk alone.
You'll never walk alone

For Drummerphil.... RIP.....YNWA

Terrible news.

All my best to Phil's family, my thoughts are with you.

Don't know what else to say, it's upsetting news and puts all our petty day-to-day problems into perspective.

Phil, what can you say about the man. He showed great character, determination, strength and so many other things during his battle with his illness.

He is an inspiration to everyone of us on here and he will never be forgotten by anyone on here. Top bloke and I'm sure that he's sitting with the likes of Shanks and Paisley up above and watching over his friends and family.

God bless you Karen, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

R.I.P. Phil

You'll truly never walk alone

Christ, I've only logged in now to see this.

I've had my own bad news about a member of my family a few weeks ago and its was only a week or two ago that Phil was PMing me about it.

RIP Phil, a true gent. :(

There are places I remember
All my life, though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places had their moments
With lovers and friends
I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all

But of all these friends and lovers
there is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more

Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
In my life I love you more
