Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He Is Dead,
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

The stars are not wanted now: put out every one;
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood,
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

RIP Phil - You will be missed

I'm so sorry to hear this sad news today.

Phil has been such an inspiration to us since we heard of his plight back in the spring. When he was in hospital in May, things looked bleak. But Phil battled on regardless. He made it out of hospital, married the woman he loved and still made regular visits to this forum to chip in about the greatest club on earth.

My thought and prayers go out to Karen and family,

Rest in Peace Phil

A tragic step that all must take
No comfort found in common ground
But in our hearts their soul still burns
Their breath, their song, their little sounds

The footman leads us past the light
And shows a land of truth and dreams
Away from pain and beyond the hurt
He shows us what existance means

Away we fly and drift past our our chains
Freedom in its ultimate way
Let us remember the blessed lost
And give to them our thoughts this day

But figures gone will linger still
In laughter, tears and heart felt times
So hear the voice of the newest angel
And see him in these earthly lines

Forget the times we disagreed
Remember laughter, light and warm
Light a candle, smile and know
He has gone beyond the storm

Peace be with you Phil. God Bless.

sorry to hear this sad news my thoughts are with you all at this sad time  :hearts

Although your heart is hurting,
And you feel you can't go on
Know in that very moment
Your loved one wasn't alone

For God was there beside them
Holding onto their hand
As the time drew nearer
For them to leave this land

He held them close and whispered
"My child, your time is now"
"But how will my loved ones go on?"
He whispered, "I will show them how"

"I will give them strength and love
And comfort in the night,
I will fill their hearts with peace
Knowing you had wings as you took flight

You no longer walk amongst them
For now you fly above
With all my Heavenly angels
Spreading ever lasting and eternal love"

This is a sad day, because Liverpool has lost a fan and the world has lost a great person.

Although I never met Phil in person, I did speak to him a lot on here and was saddened to hear about his illness in the spring.  Although I have tried to prepare for the worse (like we all have) I hoped Phil would beat it and we all would meet up for a pint and a match.  Sadly, that wont happen, but Phil will live on in our heart and I hope his family can take comfort from just how many people (all over the world) were touched by Phils bravery and courage.

Phil refused to give up and fought his illness with the spirit of Istanbul.  RIP big man, I was proud to be able to call you my friend.
