What do other people think?

I'm more than happy to contribute more but I'm not being disengenous when I say that while I have a better income than a lot of people, I genuinely cannot contribute as much as my heart pleads with me to as I'm buying a house at the moment and planning on getting married, and literally every spare penny I have is tied up in those two projects. However, I am more than happy to make a second donation to help support Phil's family and I would encourage other people to do so as well.

Sounds like a good idea to me, matey.

How about oraganising a fund raiser of some description ?

We all need to come up with some ideas, and pick the best.

Either way, I suggest that, as a minimum, people should try to send another few Bob through Paypal.

Agreed, count on another donation from me when we change the month. I don't know up there, but I'm in an age that many surrounding me are marrying (I have no plans for that yet) and it takes a lot of money the gifts, and the stuff. This month I had two. But as soon as we change the month, I'll help again.

Karen, thanks your latest post. Good to see you're considering options and thinking it through. You will come to the stage when You will actually know better than those advising you at the hospital or local authorities etc.. so dont be afraid to either disagree or insist on doing things your way. Just keep a balanced view and project forwardas to what will be best medium and long term.

Keep smiling.

How about a world cup competition predicting the scores and then who will go through to the next round and all the way up to the final me and my mates have run one for the past 2 world cups and 2 euro championships Its £10 to enter and the last euros we ended up with £1100 prize money. I am sure we could run something like this with half the prize money going to phil & karen.I would love to run it on here but time will not allow me as I am going away for a few weeks next week, but I will meet up with anyone who will run it and I will give them the neccersarry forms to post let me know if anyone can run this.

Please don't worry about the financial matters, that will all be sorted, I have a very good family who will help me out if needed and I am actually getting my head around what I need to do.  Find it really difficult to accept help, still very proud (pig headed) person, worked all my life, paid tax and national insurance and just think there should be more support from the authorities but having never had to ask for their help before finding it a little difficult to work my way through their 'minefield'!!!   Please, please don't worry you all have your own commitments and you are making me feel like I'm asking you for money and all I ask from you all is to continue to love and support Phil in the way you have done over the past months this means the world to us both and is more than we ever could have expected.

Have to go now, Phil has been reading through your messages and wants me to look into this Vodafone - internet option so you never know he might be communicating with you soon, fingers crossed hey.

Also taking my son, Andrew to the pictures, we are going to watch X-Men, he goes away tomorrow with his granparents for a few days and I want to spend some time with him.  After we will go and see Phil and we have instructions to take him a Big Whopper from Burger King - so that tells you he is still well on track.

Hope you all enjoy your weekend - catch you later.

sounds a good idea.  Perhaps we could ask the club to donate something for it instead?  that way, all the money raised could go to them?

Hope you are feeling better fella, world cup is coming up and month of footie to look forward to. Last night me ma and I sat watched the charity match for UNICEF, there was Diego Maradona struttin his stuff, his presence made the game. Football geniuses never lose that touch. I was so excited watchin the game cos he was playin - reminded me 20 years ago this summer, when he became world champion.. there's god then there's Dios..

Keep fightin fella

he looked in good shape for a man who was on a life support machine only 1 year ago.  Just another illustraition of what can happen when you don't give up.

Luis Garcia on the champons league final:

"We were sitting in the dressing room and we could clearly hear thousands of fans singing You'll Never Walk Alone. Can you imagine how that felt? We were 3-0 down in the Champions League final and all we could hear were 45,000 people letting us know they still believed in us. We knew they had endured a long journey and made so many sacrifices to be there. It was at that point we started to believe too."

phil put yourself in the same situation ,only imagine you are Liverpool  and we are ur fans. :bowdown

A Poem For Phil:

Life's troubles have hit you hard my friend,
Suffering strikes without discrimination,
You can feel like a lonesome stranger,
Even in this numerous nation.

The pain and danger engulfes the soul,
Horrors dreamt of what may come,
You feel lost and on the void,
And hope seems dry from your favourite drum.

But you are not lost because we're still here,
Hope's not done because the Kop still stands,
And even though we've never met,
Our prayers pour out through our hands.

We are a family and a community,
Never mind the distance from our homes,
You're our buddy, mate, friend and pal,
And You Will Never Walk Alone.

But all this talk is nonsense see,
You'll be fine and right as rain,
With karen by your side and here as well,
We'll help you through your horrid pains.

So get back here and start a rant,
Inform, instruct, guide and educate,
Because from us to Stevie G,
We all know that Phil is great.

Get well soon, bud. YNWA
