What is it with players from Uruguay, is there something in the water down there that makes them act dumb?

At least he didn’t racially abuse or bite anyone…

Should be an international ban not a club ban.

Cheers Reg.

Going to be a big season for Nunez this year where he needs to show he can do the job.

Just a quick catch up on the Nunez thread.

Wondering if any of you fella's have thought "Enough is Enough" ?

Personally, despite some of his qualities ( pace , determination, aggression and a big smile, even when he's f*cked it up ! )  I've gotta hold my hand up and say that given the opportunities he's had the fella's just isn't good enough ! .

Lost count of how many times he's fluffed a chance that many other strikers would have tucked away .

Is his overall contribution to our play worth more than the goal scoring chances he's missed ?

What do think lads ?
I'm thinking surely we could do better  :kungfu:

I firmly believe that missed chances cost us the title last season and Nunez was responsible for most of them. A more competent striker in our ranks and we would have won it IMO. Should have sold him this summer, take the loss and sign someone better, which is what we'll do sooner or later anyway so I'd rather we do it sooner. We did that with Benteke and Carroll and were better off afterwards.

Thought we should have sold him two years ago to be honest. I just don't think he's the brightest. Not that you have to be a rocket scientist.
But know when you're offside, know when to make a dart around the corner, know when to make a pass and when not to, know to not attack fans in the stadium...
He doesn't do well on any of the above, does he?
If he hasn't figured it out by now, he never will.

There is definitely a headless chicken thing about him, it’s why he misses sitters, scores great goals and gets caught offsides so much. He is all emotion which means could be great as well as awful, basically inconsistent and that is critical as a forward for a club wanting to compete. You have to love his attitude as he never really puts his head down after a glaring miss. It just annoys the hell out of me how many times he spoils a chance by being offside as that is really inexcusable since he is fast enough. Frankly we got spoilt watching Salah, Mane and Firmino put away most chances.

Am leaning towards the enough is enough side of the fence myself.
Was really hoping Slot could get something different from him but so far it looks like he can't. He's getting little playing time as a result and it's because of stuff like fluffed chances and offsides when he is getting played. It's seriously frustrating because all you want to see is him doing well.

One thing that's clear anyway is that we got mugged big time with the price for him!! Not even worth 20mil tbh as he looks like he just walked out of the under 21s a few weeks ago. If he hasn't improved by Christmas then he should be told it might be best to move on and we take what we get for him. He would run amok in Italy or Germany but the prem looks like its to fast for him.

If only we had someone prolific or decent instead of him. If he was clued on we definitely would have won the league last season. I was hoping we sold him in the summer and replaced him. Amount of times his offside it's like his feking thick or something. 90 M or whatever we spend on him, such a waste.

The irony is, he's gone back to play for his country. He'll prob get a goal or two. Then we'll hope "this is it, he knows where the onion sack is, finally".... And then he'll revert to form.
Nah, it's a sell for me. Atletico Madrid, and whatever they offer for him. Enough is enough.
