Dont really know what to make of this now... Is it for family reasons and he has left?  Or is it for his signings?

If its for his signings, well Kenny has said that all the players were his choice.  So surely Kenny must follow.... Unless its just the fees FSG are unhappy with

What do you mean? Comolli was the one who identified and bought those players last summer, I for one glad to see him go

Because so far the only reports are that it's mutual for family reasons as opposed to him wasting money etc and FSG wanting him gone.

It could of been the opposite with FSG trying to keep him but Comolii persuading them to let him leave.

Also Kennr picked the players to buy. Comolli did the deals

No Kenny DID NOT PICK the players to buy, Comolli did, Comolli identified those players not Kenny, Kenny's job is coaching and training, Comolli's job is scouting and buying those players, the SAME setup in baseball.

yssawewdet posted an article on how Comolli identified Downing, Henderson and Adam

Do you really think Kenny would come out 2 days before the FA cup semi final and say ''those players are not my choice'' ? Ofcourse not

Regardless of who bought who, it's clear that the owners are demonstrating that failure won't be tolerated. Are they paving the way for a new start with Kenny in complete control of team affairs, or is this the start of a management change? Time will tell...

Happy with the news, I'd much rather try this before getting rid of Kenny. With regards to the transfers, everyone knows we signed players based on stats and that's COMOLLI'S way of doing business. Fook stats, I want class players

Greavsie, we may just see some quality arriving in the summer. This Fenway lot do not fuk around. They have the money, they have the club and it's world status, they have a manager of the club that is the right man, they have 65% of a top squad. watch us fly now.

I really hope you're right Lee but I've seen quite a few false dawns in my time supporting the reds  :D

I genuinely feel this is the betteroption than sacking Kenny though. Now it all depends on his vision on how we set up, I still think the squad is a little lop sided with no defined style of play

Dalglish sad to see Comolli go

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news ... Comolli-go

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish has admitted he was disappointed to see Damien Comolli leave his role as director of football at Anfield.

Comolli's departure from Liverpool by mutual consent was confirmed on Thursday, with the Frenchman revealing he was returning home for family reasons.

Comolli, who joined Liverpool in November 2010, had been overseeing the club's transfer policy after being brought in by the club's American owners.

However, a number of high-profile signings have come in for heavy criticism this season with the club languishing in eighth spot in the Premier League.

Comolli was involved in the club's decision to spend a British record fee of £35million on Andy Carroll last January, with the striker failing to live up to the price tag.

"Everyone who has come into the club since Damien has been here was of my choice. "

Liverpool also spent big in the summer on the likes Jordan Henderson, Charlie Adam, Stewart Downing, Sebastian Coates and Jose Enrique, but the majority of the arrivals have failed to live up to expectations.

There have been ongoing rumours of an uneasy relationship between Dalglish and Comolli, but the Scot insists he had no problems with the Frenchman and that all the signings were his choice.

"I had a fantastic working and personal relationship with Damien since he came here," said Dalglish.

"It is disappointing but I suppose there is not much in football which comes as a surprise."

My choice

Dalglish added: "He has been really helpful in every transfer target we've gone for.

"Everyone who has come into the club since Damien has been here was of my choice.

"Once I made the choice who I wanted Damien went away and did a fantastic job of bringing them in.

"It is sad to see anyone leave the football club and he goes with my best wishes and hopefully it is not long before we meet again.

"We wish him well with everything that he does."

nvr had a good vibe with him in the first place.
sacked by spurs, a french club (PSG??) and now us.
he took the fall for signing Andy Carroll i think.

i think he signed 50% of our players and another 50% was signed by Kenny.

guesstimation:

Commoli signed: Suarez, Carroll (Kenny was still caretaker manager at that time)

Kenny Signed: Adam (90% sure as Kenny sang his praises, and tried to sign him once)

Not sure: Downing, Hendo (Kenny keeps playing him), Enrique

A bit out of the blue.

Points towards finger pointing to me with regards to recent form and summer signings. Don't believe this "family reasons" nonsense. It's the line clubs always trot out.

Thank God hes been shown the door and rightly so.

Family issues will be BS by the way, or given them a convenient excuse.

My impression was Comolli was responsible for finding the players we needed
and once that was cleared with Dalglish (assuming that Dagger had input)
he negotiated and sealed the deals.

The Carroll deal alone is a sackable offence (gross misconduct  )

I expected he would take the fall, and its a warning shot to the rest, including
Dalglish, that this season has been totally unacceptable.

The only question now is if this is only phase 1 of a management restructure
in the summer, and if you want to twist words Werner only mentions getting
behind Kenny for a strong finish to this season (no mention of next) but thats
probably me being bloody minded.

no, family reasons is just an excuse, journos are saying that FSG done a transfer review the past week and decided to let him go.

I'm sure you are right, but do you have some links?
