Cisse is not bad. He's fast and will score goals. On the other hand he's not the greatest or most consistent striker in the world (or even in the Premiership). I say he should stay unless Rafa has someone in mind to replace him who is also fast and clearly superior.

That's what I'm trying to said . If Rafa sells him, he better get someone who is better than Cisse. And if next season Liverpool are NOT perform well than this year. Maybe Rafa makes a mistake by selling Cisse to other clubs. Be in mind that Cisse is the second top scorer in Liverpool for this season.

I still dont understand why some ppl wanted Rafa sell Cisse. I NOT Cisse Supporter,I only want Liverpool to win EPL next season. If Cisse dont perform well, or only score less than 5 goals for the last 2 season, then I will also be angry and want him to go to other clubs next season .

But why should I be angry ? (Again same old answers) He scores more than 17 Goals , played less games and most of these games he played out of his position.

hopefully he'll have a good world cup and will be sold.

You are really SuperMAdMan. If he perform well in the World Cup, why we have to sell him ? ......

Cisse showed glimpses in the first half of the FA. Cup final that he is a goal threat. And for once he had an ounce of confidence which meant his footballing basics like his first touch and ball control were very good (only if we could see that more) and he scored a great goal as well as got forward and worked hard. I ask the question why couldn't Cisse produce that form from the start of the season?

But Cisse being Cisse and caring about modelling himself, decided to focus more on his shoe selection and came out and didn't look bothered at all (like that's an unfamiliar trait :( ) It was like he had given up and as the 3rd goal went in, he just shut up shop completely which led to me coming to the conclusion that Rafa doesn't rate Cisse because he is mentally weak and when the chips are down, he throws in the towel.

And then he picked up that injury, which looked like a cramp and made such a big deal out of it, I thought he had actually torn the muscle in his thigh. But he was okay to continue but then we had to play the remainder of the match with ten men because Cisse couldn't run, he couldn't do anything, then you have Marlon Harewood who was working really hard to try and save the game for West Ham and nearly came close.

And his persistent mood swings don't help either, one minute he's smiling and the next minute he's throwing a wobbly, If I was an opposition player, I'd be quite scared of Djib.

I've given him plenty of chances to prove me wrong but he hasn't. His moments of brilliance e.g CSKA Moscow, West Brom and the first half of the F.A Cup final just isn't enough for me and it's been tarred over by his poor performances.

And Madman 17 goals for a player he hasn't started a lot of games and has been played mostly out of position is good, but a lot were against part timers and a lot were from penalties against part-timers or lower level clubs.

They helped but you must be able to put the ball in the back of the net when it count's and against the big teams Cisse cannot do this.

Didnt Cisse only score 2 goals in the CL qualifiers and then 2 in the Super Cup?

Yes, i know that ....  but some ppl will said that the goals that he scored even an old man can scores too (what they mean is clubs that Cisse manage to scores are lousy clubs ) .

I would be careful saying that certain players are weak because they dont play on when injured/cramping. No injury is the same and it is unfair to label some players as weak, if they play on when others dont.
Imagine what kind of effect it had on Kewell after Istanbul when his own fans doubted him.......
Cisse will never be our centre forward, it just isnt Rafa's style.  I think that Rafa said to Cisse last season that he has no chance of being our first team striker but he could increase his chances if he proved that he could play on the wing.  I would be happy with Cisse being a forward utility man (being able to play either wing or striker) super-sub (with the odd start), as this is the only way that he can still get minutes at the club.
I have been very hard on Cisse, but he is still 24 and can still learn alot.  It depends entirely on his attitude, if he wins Rafa over (as Kewell did) then he has to do it by showing he really wants in and puts in 100%.  To say that he has not been given a chance is ludicrous, Rafa watches him every day in training, he has plenty of chance to prove himself

Although he is the top scorer among our strikers but I do feel that he doesn't fit in the Liverpool system.

He can look invinsible in some games, maybe pop in a few goals now and then but his overall contribution for the team is not good enough.

I say we sell him after the WC, and maybe buy a better striker that is willing to work hard for the team and score lot of goals...someone like Michael Owen..  :grinning:

That's normal, if you not fit in your boss plan ... 100% he will "kick" you out, even if you played well.

people has been critizing his performance when he's starting to prove his point this few recent games, heck why dont we mention alonso? he wasnt played what he played during the 1st season that we won the CL, although he created a few chances for us but he did a lot of bad passes this season but no one say anything bout it. i think cisse is really unlucky to be in such a position, i think this is caused by the arguement from cisse lovers and haters till it has become so huge that everytime the newspaper says benitez wanna sell someone, cisse's name will be mentioned. Poor poor frenchman. :blues:

Jesus 29 pages of thread to discuss Cisse. I can't be bothered to read through it all and can't understand some peoples blind loyalty to the Frenchman. He's quite obviously as mad as a box of frogs off the pitch and displays a singular lack of intelligence when on it. My suspicion is that were it not the paucity of inspiration which Morientes has displayed all season we would long since have forgotten him.
Circumstances in that nobody will pay decent money for him and the fact he can cover at right-midfield may mean he will stay in the Summer. FWIW I won't be sad to see that because he does provide a certain unpredictability and not just to his teammates. Seriously though, he isn't really up to it if we're honest is he?

Absolute garbage. Teams like Spurs, Bolton, Newcastle (under Glenn Roeder), Wigan and West Ham are very good teams. They might not be top four sides but they are by far from "garbage" a team like Sunderland and West Brom are garbage.
