You cant really blame Riise, it was a tough ball and it happens to the best of them.

Can't agree. I feel sorry for Riise (not as sorry as I do for the rest of the team and us fans) but Riise has to carry the can on this one. What defender in his right mind is going to attempt a clearance by HEADING a ball that is only two foot off the ground in his own six yard box ? Lunacy absolute lunacy.

Thank god we still have another 90 minutes in which we can attempt to put it right.

Have to agree...Why the phuck is he trying to clear the ball with his head, one foot off the ground, 6 feet in front of goal ?
FFS...shocking way to concede.
That said, and unlike this time one the past two occasions...I have a sneaking feeling we can turn it over next week. They gotta play Manure yet - big, tough game...

It's very, very hard to take. But in these past four years at Stamford Bridge, we haven't played with Torres, so we're always a chance to score.

LET'S GET EM REDMEN!!!!

It is beyond belief that a player would even have time to think about it, how many other defenders would consider that option? Take a swing with your wrong foot and hope, if it goes in then at least you've tried.

I feel for Riise. No point bagging him over it. What's done is done.  Slagging him for the OG isn't gonna undo it.

Just hope at the Bridge we can score a few.

A few seasons ago we might have made a tidy profit by selling him, now he's pretty much losing value by the game. I reckon Newcastle would have paid £6m or £7m for him a few seasons ago, now we'll be lucky if someone is stupid enough to offer over £4m. Because he can play anywhere on the left and has a powerful shot and long throw I reckon he's worth £3m, would be more if he could defend

Very undeserved result though neutrals would say we had bit of luck against the gunners (damn you karma)

Still confident of getting a result at Stamford Bridge ( a hell of lot more confident then last couple of seasons)

bring it on

Gutted but what can you do? This tie is far from over.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

thought the boys did really well today and dealt with alot of cheating and ruff treatment from the chelsea players not to mention all the bad decissions from the ref and linesmen
the crowd were amazing, rafa got the team and tactics right, they all performed THEN... upsteps that useless ginger tw.at, hes been poor for two seasons now and i cant believe he gets the nod ahead of insua, get rid please

so into perspective, at the bridge...

1-1 goes to pens
2-2 we go through

only way they can go through is 0-0 or a clear win on the night

no problem, bring 'em on. :)

Normally I don't see highlights of our game in the morning even if I'm looking for them, today I happened across them twice in about five to ten minutes and both times at the Riise og. And check ITV teletext P416 where the knocking is in full flow.

Maybe if Chelsea get to the final the idiot mancs will realise that may be harder for them to play, if they get past Barca, and those that were not so long ago hating Chelsea will realise that history or no history, if they win a European Cup then they'll have achieved what a lot haven't. And won't fergie be livid, Grant landing what fergie has wanted a second of for sooooooooooo long in his first (half) season.

It's not over, the away goal is always a heavy focus point in these games.
