The draw means to win it you effectively have to beat 2 of Barca, Bayern and Real so the draw wasn't ideal for either of us

when all is said and done it doesn't really matter who we get drawn against at this stage. To win the European Cup, you have to beat the best sides anyway and will come up against them sooner or later. If we get past Man City, next up could be Real Madrid or Barcelona anyhow.

It will be very hard to stop the steam train that is Man City scoring. We will just have to OUTSCORE them, like we did in the Anfield league game in January.

Whenever Liverpool enter the Champions League as Underdogs, that very description makes us the most dangerous team in Europe ,underestimate us at your peril !

I agree with this, we play our best when we are underdogs and that will be the case until the final assuming we make it all the way to the end. Bring on Europe's best!

Yeah but in the FA cup Soton beat Wigan and Chelsea beat Leicester etc... there is an inevitability that the better team will win, especially over 2 legs. We're not the finished article yet lads, we need another 12-18 months and 2-3 new players so let's not get too excited yet.

I don't think City will be too happy with the draw themselves, we are one the few teams who will take the game to them and press their back 4 plus as favourites there's a lot of pressure on their shoulders. They won't want to go out to us.
They have a terrible record at our place as well, they've been rich for a decade now but they'll still only got one win at Anfield in the last 30 odd years.

Our champions league progresd might just derail our effort to finish top 4 in the league. I just dont understand why we're having a week off and then in April we have 3 games within 6 days!

Not happy about the draw but then again I wasn't really happy about drawing Chelsea in 2005 CL semi final either   :buttrock

Key in this tie is the home leg:

1. Keep a clean sheet.
2. Score goals to take a decent lead to the Etihad.

It will effect City's performance in the second leg if we can keep a clean sheet at home, as they will have to be more cautious.

That is what we need to do 100%.

It will we a huge task if we can keep tight at the back and get a clean sheet.
