Europe - Who to cheer for

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Big Niall » Tue May 04, 2004 6:25 pm

With chelsea and Newcastle still in Europe, should we support htem/boo them/ignore them.

I was gutted when Celtic lost last year and would  like to see Newcastle win as they're a good footballing team and Bobby Robson cracks me up (unintentionally).

I'm unsure about Chelsea, I like Ranieri and Duff but I can't help but feel they're owned by a criminal and have bought their team overnight.

I support Liverpool, but I'd still prefer it if Chelsea won the European Cup rather than Monaco or Porto, and I'd want Newcastle United to win the UEFA Cup.

I'd like to see Newcastle win the UEFA Cup because they haven't won anything for about a million years or something. Besides, it's only a second rate cup anyway.

I hope Chelsea win the European Cup because of all the cr#p they've thrown at Ranieri this year. He seems like a decent guy.

We're not winning anything this year, but it doesn't mean that I should be bitter about other English clubs doing well in Europe.

We haven't won anything this year because our players have been cr#p, with a few exceptions. If other teams have done well, then all credit to them. They deserve their success.

good luck to chelsea tonight. a 2-0 win will suffice but i can see monaco scoring, especially with morientes upfront. if chelsea get through i can see them being too strong for porto in the final.

as ordinary as marseille are, i can see them beating newcastle as the toon's defence is depleted to say the least. drogba will turn them all over the place.

hope newcastle wins, but not chelsea! if they did this would mean with enough money you can buy any title in europe. somehow i still hope values like 'team spirit' and 'passion' are also important!

I hope if only for the 2 managers that they win!
Cant say a bad word about Sir Bobby he is an honest and likeable person who at the age of 149 deserves to win something!
As for Ranieri he has been treated like a dog and only for him i would like to see chelsea win! I will really detest what  chelsea have done!
And still the man has dignity and respect and is big enough to admit his mistakes that he made in the first leg!
