Baros considers future
from Sky Sport

Milan Baros says he will consider his Liverpool future at the end of the season.

The Czech Republic striker is still The Reds' top scorer this season, but has endured a mixed season form-wise.

Baros has been linked with a number of moves away from Anfield with clubs in Italy eyeing a move for him, while Valencia have been recently mooted as an admirer.

Wednesday's UEFA Champions League opponents Juventus were also reportedly looking at Baros, but the 23-year-old is not making any decision on his future as yet.

Baros refused to deny interest from Valencia, saying: "No comment, wait four weeks," when asked about the Spanish side.

The former Banik Ostrava man did brush aside any talk of Juventus being interested, saying that he has had no contact with any club.

"I read it only in a newspaper, nobody has contacted me," Baros told Idnes.

"I don't even know if somebody has contacted my agent Pavel Paska.

"It's irrelevant to think about this, I am concentrating on playing for Liverpool.

"There is still one month until the season's end and whatever happens in the summer I am calm at the moment."

Baros has played his part in Liverpool reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League, and he believes they can beat Chelsea to reach the final in Istanbul.

"It's hard to say, we are playing against Chelsea, we'll see then. But all teams that are in the semi-finals wish for the trophy. It's close.

"It won't be easy, but we have nothing to lose. We are already in the semi-final which is a kind of a success, because not many people had expected it.

"But we are self-confident. We play well in the Champions League, everything is still open."

Really hope he stays although many on this forum will disagree with me.  I think he is a handful for any defence and although he hasn't been a prolific scorer for us, his goalscoring record at international level cannot be questioned and there must be a way of transmitting that form to the premiership.

However, his temperament is questionable and I honestly do think Rafa will sell him in the summer.  If so I hope he goes abroad and not to another prem team, as I could see him coming back to haunt us.  Although all the talk is about him going to spain or italy, I'll bet teams like Villa, Newcastle and Boro will be sniffing around him

think hell be off in the summer. its a shame he hasnt got a better attitude cos he could be a great player if he ironed out some of his flaws. his international record is great but perhaps due to playin in front of nedved, rosicky, poborsky and, to a certain extent at internationla level, smicer and with koller who takes alot of the defenders attentions off baros

Just not as lethal in the premiership. Hasnt got that killer instinct in front of goal. Hope we get a good fee for him in the summer as i reckon he's going.

he's going, he knows it, Rafa knows it and so do most of the fans....£10 million will be most handy!

I think it will be closer to 7-8MIL.

baros is top class, but doesnt fit into our scheme of things. him and nando cant seem to play together and i think with cisse coming back and the emergence of la tallec as a possible former we will let baros go to valencia (taking something off them in return of course)

It seems really petulant to demand starts. Does he need a guarantee? He should be willing to compete against Nando, Cisse, Sinama and Le Tallec for a spot.
Mourinho was customizing his flashy blue racing car -- applying the finishing touches of go-faster stripes, aerodynamic spoilers and a fat f@ck you exhaust -- while on his red car, Benitez was trying to glue together a broken chassis, repair bodywork and replace burst tyres.

I think Baros will go in the summer, his record isn't that bad with us, but like someone said above, he doesn't fit into the scheme really does he?

Looking back on his time at Anfield if/when he leaves, he can take comfort in the fact that due to the circumstances, he got what he wanted, which was to be first choice striker, he was given all the chances in the world as first choice striker, so he has no complaints if the manager decides he is not good enough.  He's had his chance.

For the record, he is an excellent player with an effective style of play.  He can run at defences and usually has the better of them when he feels like it.

I don't think he will settle for a squad player role any more, so whatever happens Milan, good luck for the future. :)

Agree there Johnny, Milan is a good play but not what we need with Cisse and Nando in the squad, a swap for Aimar and Mista would be mint, we really need some quality at CB and a creative midfielder to do the job Harry Kewell was SUPPOSED to do.
