I don't really rate the lad if I'm honest, but at £2,500,000 I have no problem with us taking such a gamble, and lets face it, if we finish above Everton or Chelsea by a point he's paid that back by costing them points.

What I don't understand though, is letting him leave on loan and paying £1,000,000 to Chelsea for the "privilage" of bring that donkey Moses in to the club.

I'm baffled by Moses suddenly becoming so shite ,he looked ok when he first joined and gave us other options ,its like he's decided
to join Johnson in the I don't give a fuck club.

Yeah. When he first came, I thought he could be like Sturridge and raise his game, given that he's being given a chance revive his career with a big club. He's so sloppy and nonchalant it's unbelievable. I really wish we re-called Assaidi and sent Moses back to that cvnt club.

Both Moses and Assaidi have the same level of ability (quality if you will) and its a toss up between the 2 really. Either one of them would look good on their day or when they are in form but they're both far too inconsistent to ever warrant a starting role at a club with serious CL ambitions.

I'm glad Assaidi is doing well though. First team football and a few goals should push up his price if a fee hasnt been agreed yet.

For £2,400,000 he's been a really good gamble.

He's got to be worth easily four and half to six million now surely?

The lads proven he can at least do a steady job in the premier league and while not setting the world a light and being a great player he's certainly done his reputation no harm.

One of the few players we should see a positive return on.

Maybe that's the same problem Chelsea had?

It could be that when he is playing he is motivated, when he has to fight for his place he sulks and loses motivation.

At least it's only a loan deal.

Stoke boss Mark Hughes has revealed an agreement is yet to be reached on whether Oussama Assaidi will extend his stay at the Britannia Stadium.

The 25-year-old has impressed in his loan spell with the Potters but is yet to discover whether he will be in Brendan Rodgers' Anfield plans.

Hughes told the Sentinel: "Ossie is a Liverpool player and they hold the cards to be perfectly honest.

"We would like to make it happen, but we are only in the initial stages of discussion."

As I've stated earlier, if we can get £5,000,000-£6,000,000 then he'll have been a good signing. The lad isn't a bad player but he's never good enough to get into our side so if we can make a decent profit then happy days. Hopefully he'll keep knocking goals in against Chelsea and Everton and the likes! :)

He would be a great bench player for us IMO, but if he would want that or not I don't know, think he'll leave but we will make a profit.

I don't think he was ever part of Rodger's plans tbh.

from the telegraph:

Mark Hughes is close to signing Liverpool winger Oussama Assaidi in a deal worth a potential £7million.

Hughes, the Stoke manager, has finally struck a breakthrough in his pursuit of the Morocco international and could complete the signing before the weekend.

Stoke had been deterred by Liverpool's strict transfer fee but are close to agreeing a fee which will see them pay an initial £4.5million.

Hughes had turned to Norwich winger Nathan Redmond after growing frustrated in his attempt to bring Assaidi back to the Britannia Stadium, with the Championship club turning down a £3.5million bid.

But negotiations over Assaidi have resumed over the past 48 hours and Hughes expects to permanently sign the winger, who impressed on loan last season. Assaidi, 25, will become Stoke's fifth signing of the summer

That's great news, Boroni should be sold soon. Hell we might have 16-18 million just from those two flops.
