Downing is naturally a left winger, quite why he plays on the right is beyond me. It seems managers are content on their wingers cutting in which is stupid imo.

Crossing isn't actually our game so I believe that's why BR plays the wingers on their opposite wing.

exactly correct. thats why we shipped Carroll off too.

I don't see a problem with playing wingers on opposite wings.

Yet despite all of that we still put balls into the box from the wings (go figure).

I like this lad but he needs to work on his final ball and also be a bit more direct, I lost count how many times he beat the full back 3 or 4 times before putting the ball in.  I felt for Borini as he didnt have a clue when tomake his run!!!
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

He's already shown in a red shirt that he has good feet, good acceleration and can go past a defender. He hasn't shown end product but it's early days and his end product for heerenveen was good so i'm optimistic he'll be a good signing.

genuinely excites me. thought he was excellent against west brom. struggled a bit last night though.

still early days. probably will be best used coming of the bench for the last 20 minutes of games when defences are tiring anyway.

Our first goal yesterday came from a cross ???

The reason we don't cross much is because there is no one in the box ?!

Assaidi may have quick feet and tricky skills but his end product is lacking

Crossing not being our game doesn't mean no crosses AT ALL. It means that BR wants his wingers to cut trough the defense and then make the shot/cross when they are closer to goal. Getting rid of Carroll says a lot about that IMO (unless there's more to it than just Brendan not wanting him).

It's a myth to suggest that you need bean poles like Peter Crouch or man mountains like Andy Carroll to play balls into the box. We'd benefit from playing with width if our players got into the box. This is our major problem, getting men into the box.

This lad got talent, hope to see him in starting line up more often. He can assist, dribble, pass and last but not least, score.

I'd be interested in seeing sterling and assaidi on each side of Suarez. Pace would be abundant.

£3m, what a bargain, the best purchase made by any Premier League club this season.
