Really good thing about Aqua is that he is very strong on both feet.. that left footed finish would have been difficult even for Torres.

Against the mancs, its a tough one to call really. In the last 3 times we have beaten the mancs Lucas has played a big part in all of them.

He needs to go on a consistent run to keep his confidence up. He was fantastic against Portsmouth, so it would be harsh to drop him now. Keep Lucas and Kuyt on bench, play Torres-Maxi-Aqua-Gerrard together and have a proper go against Mancs. Reverting back to Lucas and Masch might actually f*cks things up, because both players are not good at keeping possession! Aquilani can keep the ball better, carry it forward and pick a pass. We need to keep possession against the Mancs if we have any chance to beat them.

Anyways, Aqua needs a run of games after last night, if he keeps what he is doing he will definitely be a key player in our team

Its terrible being so sceptical, he probably doesn't know he has got a stomach bug. They probably think as he cannot read speak or english very well yet he won't know why he's being dropped

Aquilani blow for Reds
17th Mar 2010 - Latest News

Alberto Aquilani is doubtful for Thursday night's Europa League clash with Lille, manager Rafael Benitez confirmed today.

The Italian international - who netted his first goal for the Reds in a man of the match display against Portsmouth earlier in the week - missed training at Melwood on Wednesday.

"He has a virus and is struggling with his fitness," said Benitez at Melwood earlier today.

"We have to take care of him and decide tomorrow. It will be a late decision."

I would prefer to see Aquilani against Man Utd. anyway. Put Lucas in for Lille.

Does anyone know if he's likely to get in the Italian WC squad?
