Watched "Moneyball" last night. I know fk all about baseball but found it very interesting. Brad Pitt plays the real life Billy Beane, the fella who introduced a new way of thinking when it came to evaluating and accquiring players. A system that John Henry and the Boston Red Sox (who feature briefly in the movie) later adopted.

Worth a watch  Moneyball trailer

Yer probably getting old DD.  :D

Having said that it's been a pretty thin year for quality film.

Tried to put together my top ten movies I've seen this year, got to two and then ran out of ideas   :( .

1. The Guard
2. Rango.

X-Men First Class was good, so was Horrible Bosses (Hilarious) and, I love the avenger series, used to watch the cartoons when I was a littl lad so Thor and Captain America were good.

I'm also a big fan of Tintin as well, looking forward to watching the animation heard its very good

We Need To Talk About Kevin ...I don't think I have seen a mainstream film with such disturbing overtones .

Finally got round to see Cowboys and Aliens which I found pretty souless despite a great cast

Fortunately the second movie I watched lived up to expectation.

The Guard definately one of the best for 2012

Real Steel

Rocky meets Robot Wars. 100% popcorn BUT as a Saturday matinee I loved it . Even found myself hoping that Atom (our hero robot) somehow had some magic soul of his own that we could communicate with.

Well worth a watch when there's fk all else on the TV.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (remake) - Its David Fincher so its gonna be class, but I prefer the original, Roonie Mara had big shoes to fill, and she didn't fill them.

No way she could though I suppose they are banking on the US audience never seeing the original.

Speaking of remakes.......Bladerunner !!!!

How could they and the even bigger question which one will they remake

Original
Director's cut or
The one with "It's got 8 seconds of extra footage, I hear it entirely changes the tone of the movie "

:D
