Got out to see The Debt last night and quite enjoyed it.  It's a pretty taut and tense suspense flick, with good performances across the board--the standouts being the Nazi doctor and the young Rachel.  The old goose-stepper has reinvented himself as a gynocologist and the scenes where the young Rachel poses as a patient to get close to him are chilling.  I thought the portion of the story set in the 60s worked better than the portion set in the 90s (which felt a bit rushed and slightly OTT at the end) but it was all quite enjoyable.  The most memorable line?  "This is my hand and this is the speculum" delivered in chilling German.

Looks like a good one.

I saw a movie called "the experiment" like 2 months ago or something.  I think it was an independent, but it was actually really good, and based on a true story.  Bunch of people are put into an experiment where half are prisoners and half are prison guards in a prison.  They don't really know what's going on, but it gets crazy.  Very good film.

Red State. Tarrantino apparently loves "this fricking movie". I was therefore expecting something more than what was actually delivered. The movie seemed to promise all sorts of possibilities but with a run time of circa 80 minutes it seemed those possibilities were left unexplored.

Mate, fortunately for me I have a quick memory wipe, christ sake, I have trouble remembering good movies, bad ones hardly even register .

I'll have a think and see if in the dark dust infested corners of what passes for a memory I can dredge up any 100% pure sh'ite, guaranteed there's a load there somewhere.   :D

Small budget but with Brendan Gleeson , the big fella from "In Bruge" and Don Cheadle "Hotel Rwanda",  The Guard trailer is deffo one of the best films I've seen this year.

I've literally got hundreds of new movies to watch but I'll have to sift through the s.hit first - I don't know what new decent movies are out amongst the lot I have.

I did watch one though that I saw was advertised on the telly - The Contagion. It has quite a big cast - Mat Damon, Gwenyth Paltrow, Lawrence Fishburne, Jude Law and Kate Windslatw.

It's decent enough to watch 7/10. The gist of the movie is about a virus that's spreading the planet and every man and his dog are trying to contain it, find it's source and work on vaccines to stop it becoming an epidemic.

Watched  Nicholas Cage and Nichole Kidman in "Trespass" the other night. Story line is essentially a diamond dealers home invaded by some psycho's. Got really poor reviews but for a free DL is wasn't bad.

Caught a neat little bank heist movie last night, couple of laugh out loud moments, not great but not bad.

Just watching an old(ish) movie that is about one of the fundamental wrongs of American society. :(

John Q - starring Denzel Washington. 8/10.
