I remember watching the Evil Dead when I was about 11 or 12 and it scared the life outta me!! Its a real classic. Have also watched the 2nd one which was cr@p

I can understand you being scared by Evil Dead when you were only a kid but watching them through adult eye's all three of the series are brilliant comedies with Evil Dead 2 being the best. The scenes with Ash battling with his own hand before cutting it off and hunting it down are comedy gold.

link-Ash and his possessed hand

it reminds me alot of Frenzy from Transformers  :D

bavlondon wrote:I watched Redacted today. 9/10 awesome film!

Redacted is a film written and directed by Brian De Palma that is a fictional drama loosely based on the Mahmudiyah killings in Iraq.

It's basically about some silly US soldiers who decide to kill a family and rape the young girl of that family. Insurgents then kidknapp 2 people from that squad (not the offenders) and they are tortured and beheaded.

Although for legal reasons the film mentions no link to the Mahmudiyah killings it is infact based on that event.

Very harrowing and bleak.

Redacted.

Just turned it off half way through.

Brian De Palma (director) what a cu'nt . I'm not saying this kind of stuff didn't go down in war (all war's) but he covered this same sh'ite  earlier in his career.

All I'm seeing now is a director past his prime regurgitating previous achievements for monetary gain.   Fu'ckin' Political Vulture.

For anyone who was remotely "moved" by Redacted I strongly recommend that you check out out Da Palmas original take on this story line in his by far superior film   "Casualties of War"  .

I watched that De Niro/ Pacino movie the other night, I quite enjoyed myself. Nothing fantastic considering the actors but still definately worth a watch.

Watched 'Battle in Seattle' yesterday, with Charliez Theron, Woody Harrelson and Ray Liotta. About the WTO and the protests against it. Unfortunately this film didnt do much for me considering the cast. Okay but I dont think its worth a download or a trip to the cinema for.

Saw 'Mirrors' that was alright .

Looking out for 'The body lies' or something like that, with De Caprio and Crowe, looks as though it could be a good 'un.

Come and See

Brilliant and sobering Russian war film that may have escaped the notice of the forums movie buffs. Outstanding in just about every department. 8/10

A Second World War film made in 1985 showing the horrors endured by the population of Byelorussia. There is no gung-ho action here, there are no uplifting stories of daring and cunning. It's all about the pity and horror of war. The unwavering direction of Elem Klimov and the pyrotechnics of his actors and effects people are made all the more potent by the knowledge that the terrible events shown in the film have a firm foundation in reality. The majority of the action is unremittingly ugly and it's here that Klimov and cameraman Aleksei Rodionov's ability to capture such images has its biggest impact. The final massacre and its shocking aftermath must rank amongst the most disturbing moments in cinema history.

This is a real horror film - it's painful to watch and there's no escape through thinking it's only a movie - and it's correspondingly impressive.

Watched one called "Quarantine"
Im almost 100% sure this is a US remake of REC that Emy Red talked about.
Feck its creepy, horrific, civilians and firefighters are locked in an apartment block with zombies .they cant leave as they are suspected of being "infected" and are caged in by police! All shot on a handheld cam...this is a movie i reckon that you need to be in the mood for...i loved it!
One complaint it was just a bit too dark.Good show but I seen the ending coming a mile off...scarier than most!!  :buttrock

does it remind u of the Blair Witch Project? i was put off from watching it when it came out after finding out it was on a hand cam. it has a good storyline though but im very doubtful if its any good as i didnt really enjoy BWP.
